Rally 9

I would like some track time within a days drive of Colorado so I would be on with either Vegas (either lvms or spring mtn) or salt lake (miller). Phoenix at Bondurant would be ok but I've been there twice.

There are some tracks in Colorado. The pueblo track is being operated by Bondurant (I believe) but the hotel choices there are severely limited. I would recommend early September because we do get major snows in the mountains starting g in late sept. plus with all of the flood damage the good twisty roads will be u der repair. FYI mike our dri e will probably take a year or more to be repaired so ce it is washed out in at least three places

Well I guess just because I shave made it to all 8 so far also have an opinion? Ha...

Of course to be a homer, love it to be within 1000 miles of home, but that ain't happening, which is too bad, New England has some great roads and things to do, but we just dont have the numbers of gt's to supprt it. So after that, and I'm not able to trailer (don't have time for more than that), doesn't matter where.

I too hope a track day comes back. I missed being on track, but it did not make the rally any less fun.

Vegas is a hoot, we have been going for years (used to be for work, now sema) so I like that idea. And we don't gamble.

Colorado, and az are very suitable as well. I have run this track in co, its a roval, not much of a track, but like Vegas motor speedway, better than nothing, spring mountain would be way better..... http://www.ppir.com/track-info/track-information

Oh and I hope you do the rally search thing again we will be sure not to have other plans this time. Maybe sprinkle in a "poker run" into it also, especially in Vegas....

Tony makes a good point about the driving roads in the Denver / Boulder area. These floods did not effect the SW Colorado area around Durango, Silverton and Pagosa Springs. God's country I tell ya. Top notch accommodations are available in Durango at the Doubletree. There is also a Marriott there and many others.

I was NOT SEROUS about Branson!! It would be fun for a couple of day cruises....but ultimately an engineer's attempt at humor...

Jack, you just need to plan a "blow out the cob webs" get together for us mid westerners some weekend next spring.

Those Ozark roads would be a blast!

Blake put the bug in my ear during the Rally. I will give it some thought as there are a number of GTs within 300 mi or so which would make a weekend of cruising fun.

You can't promise Meth and expect people to not take it seriously!

Hmmm. Dont think there was even an implied promise of supplying Meth....but I'm an engineer, not an attorney. I thought I would get more input on the quilting workshop...or the worlds largest collection of outboard motors...by that I mean hundreds of really old outboards. Johnny Morris, the owner of Bass Pro Shops has tried to buy the collection a number of times.

Colorado sounds great to me, Meth...well who can say anything bad about it?

Sure wish I could have gone to Rally 8 as it looked like some awesome drives and good times, but that's a long ways from Florida - at least 3 days of driving one way. Anywhere east of the Mississippi River would be my preference like Brandon MO, Knoxville TN area of the Blue Ridge Mts (Tail of the Dragon), Roanoke VA area, Rome GA area, Columbus OH area, etc. I've been on plenty of tracks with the GT and other cars and I'm not that interested in beating up my FGT anymore, so cruises are more interesting to me now. Maybe if you choose to be near a track for those interested racing, we could also have some cruises scheduled during the track times for those not interested in beating up their cars. Just some thoughts I have about the Rallys. Since I've only been able to attend Rally 7, I guess my vote doesn't count as much as Chips, Ha ha.

Each of the 5 Rallies I´ve attended so far have been great in their own way. As long as it has all the great members of the Forum combined with a fairly unlimited access to beer and nachos, I´ll definately try to make my way over ..... if "he who must be obeyed" let´s me :biggrin:facepalm::rofl

Track time is a greatly appreciated bonus, but as TO AWSUM suggested, this could maybe be done as a pre rally or post rally thing for those really interested - so please keep us close to a good track :wink

:cheers

I need to come to another rally me thinks. However, I'm in Europe, and don't have a GT....kind of makes things a little more difficult lol.

Others come without a GT, or without any car. You can always find a ride. Or...do the "Copenhagen Method." Fly to US. Buy a cool car (e.g., Boss 302). Bring it to the Rally. Ship it home.

Steven - You're always welcome, you know that. How's the new book coming along?

I think we should choose from these 3 top choices: VEGAS, VEGAS and VEGAS.

Im open to any of them...

So my long lost friend ,does that mean you would actually show up????
You may be falling in to Stormcat territory !
That means changing your forum name to a less desireable one if you don't show!
I'm now ok with Vegas !
