    Mclaren MP4 market

Apparently I'm getting older! The TT FGT is undeniably an awesome car, and Shelby did a phenomenal job with this build (http://eliteautosllc.com/vehicle/ford-gt-twin-turbo-butterfly-doors/) --it's truly lust inspiring. But I'm facing the reality that I'm not likely to track the car (I'll play...

    Mclaren MP4 market

'Preciate the feedback. I've decided that the car(s) that will go to make room for the McLaren are my GT-R, my Hemi Jeep, and my SLK55 AMG. I'll keep the TT FGT (although I think I'll be looking to trade that for a non-TT version in the near future).

    Mclaren MP4 market

I'm in the same boat as JaxGT. Was at first thinking of trading the TT FGT for a Mac MP4, until my wife suggested an alternative. So now I think I'll DX my '09 GT-R and 2011 Hemi Jeep Rubicon conversion, and my '05 SLK55 AMG to get the Mac. That'll accomplish two missions: Make a little more...

TT Boost settings on Hefner GT1000TT setup?

Apologies in advance if this has been asked and answered--I simply couldn't find where. As I understand it, the Heffner GT1000TT setup runs about 850hp (crank) on 93 octane pump gas at one boost setting, then the boost can be dialed up to create approx. 1000hp on 103 octane (race?) gas. Does...

Ohio Mile Coming in Spring 2012 (?)

Word on the Wilmington Mile forums is "...the folks at the Texas mile have increased the roll cage requirements recently to 8 point for cars going 215 mph or more. And even have a requirement now for 190 mph cars." I hope that's not true or I'm going to have to break down and rewrite my bucket...

Ohio Mile Coming in Spring 2012 (?)

UPDATE: Had an email exchange with the ECTA President today. Guess I'm back to deciding if I want to bite the bullet for Texas. :-/ Here's what he said: "It is all about your safety and NOT about making money. I build race cars for a living and have done crash investigation for NHRA, IHRA...

Ohio Mile Coming in Spring 2012 (?)

These Wilmington Mile (aka Ohio Mile) events in 2012 are apparently being run by ECTA. I'll put in inquiry in to see what the requirements will be. The goal will be to get them to accept the same process that resulted in roll cages not being required for FGTs in Texas or California at those...

FGT Fuel Filler Cap From Sticky to Stuck!

That's not something you can do from the top (outside the fender) is it?! Right now, I don't even have a good way to lift the car (because it's been lowered and there's just not much clearance for a jack!), and so I'd prefer not to remove the wheel and take out the wheel-well liner...

Ohio Mile Coming in Spring 2012 (?)

(sorry if I missed any previous posts on this--a basic search didn't turn anything (recent) up). Looks like us Midwest / East-coast folks may get a chance at running a standing mile without having to go all the way to Texas or California...

Just watched this last night--what a hoot, especially the bombshell ending!

FGT Fuel Filler Cap From Sticky to Stuck!

There was a thread on this a few years ago, but not much since and I wonder how many are suffering from this--and more importantly have come up with a fix? My fuel filler cap has always been a bit finicky, requiring multiple latch pulls and occasionally a little jimmying with a credit card to...

My Ford GT parked next to my Nissan GT-R

I have this same combo, with a Ford Raptor as a general utility/inclement weather vehicle, and I love them all. ...but am having the damnedest time figuring out what the next car should be. It's become a personal challenge (hobby) to find a relatively late-model car (FGTs count!) that's both...

Top Three (Classic) Thrill/Investment Cars You Hunger For

Good points on the Ferrari, Toby. Perhaps that was much more an uninformed emotional choice than a sound financial one! Certainly, with words like "While hope springs eternal, none of these cars has any chance of appreciation," it's clear that Sheehan doesn't think a 550 belongs in any...

Got my car back from the GT Guys....

The GT Guys live near Ohio? I must have been asleep at the wheel all this time not to have realized that! Living just North of Cincinnati, it's great to know that kind of resource is (relatively) close at hand!

Top Three (Classic) Thrill/Investment Cars You Hunger For

I think I made this too easy by setting the per-car limit too high. :-) It begs an interesting question, though. If a Ford GT has such high miles that it goes for less than $120K, will it appreciate much from there within a decade? I don't think I can recall seeing one selling for so little...

Top Three (Classic) Thrill/Investment Cars You Hunger For

So, I'd like to hear about your lust... you CAR lust, that is! But throwing money at a "problem" is boring, so let's add some constraints to make this challenging. Here're the rules: 1) You have a force in your life (wife? business sense? modicum of self-restraint?) that's said you must choose...

Video: 2012 Nissan GT-R vs 2005 Ford GT.....

I think this evolved into a really interesting thread. I'd like to see it take another branch: Top three *Classic American* Thrill/Investment Cars You'd Want In Your Garage. I'll start it as a new thread, though and look forward to the answers.
