Shelby Bash 2020


Jennifer and I will be at the event as well without our GT. The people are what make these events special.

Rich, great to see you will be there. The cars look awesome! Safe travels on your way out and watch for deer coming out of Detroit....

We had left around noon and made it to Dayton, OH and heard the news. Turned around and back home now. Bummer. Now working on cancelling everything.

Good news is we put another 400 miles on the Black, frame swap car, with no issues. And taking it easy on the highway it got almost 23mpg. Pretty good for a 700HP car.

I may have been the only member whose car went on a trip to Vegas lol. Truck turned around and is heading back.

Spent 5 hours yesterday loading cars and supplies in RV then unloading everything and putting it back up. At least I wasn’t somewhere in Texas when I got the news. Would be great if Shelby could reschedule for a date close to the GT Rally. We could get two events with one long haul. Scottsdale and Vegas close together. One can always hope. Shelby could end up with 70 to 80 GT’s at their bash.

That thought crossed my mind too... I heard October. So there is a chance!
 
I could score a "hat trick" with possibly 3 NFGT events all in a row during October. Susan and I are participating with our NFGT in the Classic Motorsports Magazine 2020 Golden State Tour scheduled for Oct. 4th - 8th in California. I can see shipping the car to Calf. for the tour then driving it to the Shelby Bash in Las Vegas. next drive to the Ford GT Forum Rally in Scottsdale and finish by shipping the car back to Texas. My Triple Crown Win!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that the car gods look down favorable during October.

I think we are ALL counting on a state of Nirvana like this!!!!! May the Gods gather and plan!!!!
 
The overriding determinant for death from this infection is age. Virtually all of our attendees are north of 50. Many are north of 60. A fair number are north of 70. It would be irresponsible not to take this into account, so we're going to have to wait and see what develops.

We'll put forth a plan in the coming weeks and then monitor the situation. Public safety first. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

For sure Dave. Hope and pray it all under control ASAP so we can get back to normal. Wouldn’t be much fun to have gatherings and set in car and yell to each other. 😂😩
