Year after year I find myself eagerly waiting for it to be Ford GT Rally time. It is always my great pleasure to see my friends and all of the great things that have been done to the cars from year to year. This tear in particular I have to say that I was awestruck by the selfless nature of the GT community. As these cars get a little bit older we start to see more and more little issues come to surface. When any issues arose during this event there was no shortage of people willing to lend a hand.

In our case we had a charging system issue with Ray's matte black car. As soon as we noticed we had an issue, which was right before dinner on Wednesday night, Shadowman was right there with us to help solve the issue. We checked over the car and bounced around ideas all through dinner. Yes, he missed out on one of the best meals of the rally to help us out. Then here comes Stormcat to the rescue with a few needed tools so we could get the car in shape to drive over to A.R.T. where they loaned us their shop and tools to make any necessary repairs. Then comes Soroush who says "Hey guys, I brought an extra GT with me. If you need an alternator, feel free to take it." Additionally, Rich and Dennis (The GT Guys) poured a lot of thought into solving the issue as well as several of the technicians at A.R.T.. Ultimately we traced it down to a grounding issue and Ray and Janna were able to enjoy some driving on Friday. So I would like to give a HUGE "thank you" to these guys as well as Ed Sims who provided a few tools so we could put Soroush's car back together.

As for my good friend Dave Bannister, I really don't know how to thank you engouh. I see all of the effort that you, Francesca and numerous other behind the scenes enthusiasts pour into every one of these events. If not for you guys the GT community could not be what it is today.

I'm sure that most of you noticed that I decided to bring my daughter along for this trip. I can't tell you how excited she was to go on a trip with her dad. She thoroughly enjoyed herself at the hotel, at the events and in the company of everyone who attended. Just like all of us, she is a true car nut. Everyone took the time to make certain that she felt like she was part of the community. I would like to give everyone my greatest thanks for this. I really can't tell you all what it meant to me for everyone to have treated my little girl the way they did and make her just that much more enjoyable.

Last but certainly not least I would like to thank my great friends Ray and Janna Hofman for giving us the opportunity to build the cars that we have for them and for keeping cool heads and jumping right in to help when we were working the bugs out of the matte black GT.

Jason it was good to have finally met you as I have heard so much about you and your company. It's great to see that all of the good things that have been said are really true as was seen on Ray's repairs during the rally. It's also nice to see a Maryland native doing so well so keep up the good work:thumbsup

It was "great" times Jason and your daughter was a real trooper while smiling all the time

All the best

Jason & daughter

Jason - It was nice to see you & your daughter at the Rally. She reminded me of my little girl who is now away attending college. She went to every car event & race with me when she was growing up. They grow up so fast!

Ed

PS Here is my daughter in 1991.

To Jason

Jason,
They say what goes around, comes around. You and your company have been an active participant in our Forum rallys. I believe I met you at our first get together and if not I am sure our second in Orange County. As you have supported our family it it only natural you be supported in return. You are part of us.....

I have always enjoyed very much talking technical aspects with you on your products. They are IMO fine offerings and the track times speak for themselves. Thank you for your continued support and participation in our family!

My wife and I so enjoyed sharing a table with you and your daughter at the final dinner. Not a complaint ever raised with the adult dinner, but her eyes lit up with the macaroni and cheese and chocolate milk the waiter brought out for her. What a prize to have both she and your son so interested in your cars! They do grow up soooo fast! Enjoy their envolvement as long as possible.

See you I am sure next rally!!

Thanks, guys.

Soroush, there is no doubt that anyone would help out in any way possible if you or any other needed it.

pe2unia, it was a pleasure to finally meet you as well. I'm a big fan of your cnc masterpieces.

Bill, as always, it was great to see you. I'm glad we finally got to spend some time together at this rally.

Ed, thank you. Your little girl is adorable. It is hard to believe how quickly they grow up which is why being able to bring my little girl on trips like this is so meaningful to me, and my daughter. My son will be old enough to come on some of the trips soon. If you see him at the next rally, hide your keys. Hahahaha.

MJ, thanks and it was nice to see you out there. Jordan had a great time playing with you at the track.

Bill, yes, we met for the first time at Rally 2 in California. I have always thoroughly enjoyed our conversations and had a great time chatting with you and your wife this year.

Jason, it was nice to see you again. Keep that kid covered up in the sun. Frank

Thank you Mr. Heffner for the on-site plug change (free with all twin turbo GT purchases!). No seriously, thanks for building me a car that is a tremendous amount of fun, runs like a champ, and for your continued support of the forum. Much appreciated.
