New track car in the stable"Boss 302S"

Congrats on the purchase. Great track cars. I greatly enjoy my Laguna Seca.

First day at Road Atlanta with Boss 302S. Glides like it's on rails. Still breaking it in but love it. Really loud with no sound deadening or door panels but great you can hear everything. Abound 90 deg. and just verily got to operating temp.

Thanks Blake and Renee for a great day at Road Atlanta, a great track with lots of elevation changes. The new Boss looks great on the track as Blake was feeling it out and breaking it in. As usual I was not a good rider and only made a few laps however Donna had a blast.

love the down hill at RA!
Looks like fun to me!

Awesome toy Blake. Sounds like it's a blast! :cheers

This is the last turn to the start finish line a real fast turn. Blake just called and said a guy in a Cadillac hit the wall and turned over coming out the turn this morning. He was driving it pretty fast yesterday and I took a picture at that turn. Come to find out he had rented it for the weekend. Not good.

Did they put a gas gauge in the 302s yet? I need to get mine modded.

Sweet Car Blake.. Ford made a good choice on the Wing.. That's the same one I use for my package. ...:biggrin Enjoy and have fun !! You know you could let Frank Drive your car.. He never goes very fast anyway. Just consider it more break in time !! :rofl

Stormy, that is a very good idea!:biggrin

I was hopping there was a function on the read out that showed fuel level that I had not found yet! All I know is that 40 minutes of hard running requires fill up of 9 to 10 gallons. You would think there would be a fuel gauge.

Blake,

Are you bringing it to COTA next year??? Also what octane fuel you using?

Larry

No it's just not you. I know you can track the fuel burn but as far as I know it resets with each on off cycle of the battery.

I love the car though and the braking and acceleration are off the charts. So far mine has not seen anything to run with it.

That's a sweet car, Blake!! Congrats!

Was looking at your avatar, can't help but notice everything has stripes except your tow vehicles.

If MVP goes to COTA next year I will be there. Yes, all of the cars have painted stripes on them, just a personal like. Never thought about my work truck or Renee's Expedition with strips, maybe it would work. Looking to clear bra sections of the Boss 302S that get a lot or rubber/rock hits. 3 more track days in August to get used to the car. Picking up a set of Hoosiers next week to run on. Reprogramed for 91/93 fuel and it ran great. Easy to change if I want to burn 108 at some point. Looking to sell my 08 Shelby track car latter on.

Have you lowered it yet and set the alignment? The 302S that we have seen were set pretty high - presumably to assist in transportation without damage. Lowering and about 3 degrees of negative camber in the front really makes a big difference. An 18x10 wheel with a 275/35 square set-up works well on this car and the square setup saves the pocketbook a little bit - allowing you to rotate front to rear. FWIW, we like the BF Goodrich g-force R1 on this car as they are pretty sticky but outlast the Hoosiers.

In my plans but new to me and I have a lot of studying to do to make sure I get it right. There are a lot of adjustments that can be made but want to get if right the first time. I will just be using it for FUN track days but need to get it set up so it will work well on a variety of tracks, will not be resetting for different tracks.

But can you take the wife to dinner in it?

Ed

Cool car BigInch!

Sure can Ed, got a milk crate that fits in floor and 1/2 rope seat belt, she loves it! She thinks by Boss is sexy.

What a wife! Kind of like mine, but Monica would make me sit on the crate...
:biggrin

Headed to Joliet Autobahn tomorrow for second Boss 302S outing then to Gingerman the 9th & 10th. Had big ordeal with Ford Racing, got optional BBS racing wheels with the car, contacted Ford Racing because all 4 boxes were labeled Boss 302S rear wheels, they emailed me back that they were for all four corners. I had a set on Hoosiers mounted on them and attempted to mount them on the car. Back ones went on fine, the front ones hit the shocks. I called my contact at Ford Racing and 5 hours later he emailed me to call him so I did. He said I needed spacers so the wheels would fit, I ask where they were and were they shipped to the Ford dealer I bought the car from. He said he didn’t have an answer for that and I needed to call Watson Racing I told him BS and he needed to call them. To shorten the story, I contacted the Ford dealership, he did some checking and told me to find them and he would get them for me. I contacted Watson Racing (they build the Boss 302S and Cobra Jet NOT FORD RACING) and he said Ford offered the BBS wheel option and were told they would not fit the front but were told to ship them. So low and behold they set a CMC and started making spacers. The Ford dealership was great, they paid the $80 plus shipping and said they would deal with Ford Racing. Wheels/tire are on and ready for the track.

My hat is off the Hood Ford in Louisiana, they have been great and went the extra mile for me! Sorry this was son long.

Bill "Indy GT" is going to both tracks with me and his Boss LS.
