new standing mile record for Ford GT...or any other car

HP???

They should be rated in torque at the axles, HP is meaningless!

There is a limit to the yield and tensile strength of materials with the limiting factor being defined by the transaxle's spline dimensions.

Very impressive run!!!

My apologies for the doubts in my mind when I 1st read the claims for the car. It is the deal deal!

well it can hold whatever torque the 1600 hp GT puts out. Good enough for my car. :wink

Honestly when I first read 253 I thought they extended the distance.

I don't know what is more impressive, that the car did 253 or the driver who put her there. Capability of the car is meaningless without the driver to take her to the limit. Well done all ways around. :thumbsup

Do we know if it was the owner who was driving or not??

Talk about raising the bar!

253, that is just awesome :thumbsup

:cheers

I think the doubt came from his claim of being able to do 300 in the mile. at those speeds the air barrier becomes exponentially more difficult to push through. may be you can calculate how much hp it would take to achieve 300 in the mile, just theoretically speaking.

since he geared the car up with custom gears he has the gearing to go 300 mph in 6th :eek wether or not he has enough power is another story......

I would imagine whatever power level he was at to run 253 which would need to be at least in the 14-1500's is not enough to run 300 mph, even with another 300 hp it would not be enough, I dont think?:confused

clinton where is your calculator how much hp do you need to go to 300 in the mile give gearing and weight of the gt???

wide open guess it would take over 2000 rwhp to get 300 mph in the standing mile in a GT.

Weight doesn't matter if the road length in unlimited. I will posted a graph in the past for a stock aero FGT, HP vs. terminal velocity. I don't remember if it went to 300 mph. I will check in later to updated if needed.

I would guess waaaaay more than that. I read that this GT motor made 1785 rwhp. Don't know if that was on the full 300 shot or what, but either way, just think, it took at LEAST an extra 500rwhp to get from your 226 (1000rwhp?) to 252.

exactly and the next 50 mph will require another 1000:eek ..... probably

maybe 2000

we are working with a one mile limit here, from a stand still!

I ran :

218
219
220.5
221

WOW this is fantastic:thumbsup

I was kinda going off that but factored in the he missed a shift and was supposedly using a 100 shot of NAWS. Whatever the number we should get him to turn up the boost and have Soroush send him a couple bottles of funny gas to figure it out for us. :wink

Hey T:

can you give us a rundown of the runs? shift points, rwhp, tires, wheel spin? etc so we can bench race a little? :wink

Certainly

she put down 1077whp a few weeks ago and I backed the controller down a little bit before I ran Sunday
7000 target shift point
Hoosier R6 all 4 corners 32 psi
Would spin in first when boost hit and when I hit hi boost in second she would wiggle a bit but good after that.

The jet car that that ran 324mph has 6500 pounds of thrust if that helps.
