WOW!. I still can't believe it. I don't know how or why I deserve this good fortune but I think I will go to church Sunday lol. Thanks to y"all (you guys for you Yankees) for everything, especially Mark McGowan, 427 Aggie (Matt), It'sOnlyMoney (David) and all of the Ford guys. This is really a life-high for me as I live and breath cars. I am very fortunate to be in a business where I love what I do. When I was six years old my dad would tell his friends that I could tell the make and year of a car driving down the road. He said one day an old Hudson (telling my age) came by and I hesitated but nailed it right on. I still notice the minute differences in year models, but some now are carbon copies from year to year. Makes me mad when a movie uses another car for a scene and it is the wrong year or a different model (like a base Firebird for a TransAm or a 67 for a 68 Camaro). You'd think they could get it better, but perhaps I'm one of few that cares or notices. Come to Rally IV in Texas and get a chicken-fried steak. I will personally make sure it will be memorable. Lots of great scenery here including blondes, brunettes and redheads. A few cars and tracks too. How about a real rally through the Hill Country with checkpoints and secret, decodable, turn by trun instructions perhaps ending up at Doublecreek Ranch for drinks and some REAl Texas food. I'm thinking perhaps a bit of navigator or passenger skill as well as the driver. Makes it more interesting. Lots of ideas flowing through my head.

Congrats! I am glad I had a chance to experience this car as a passenger with Mark McGowan as the driver. One of the highlights of Rally III!

What a piece of history! and you OWN the car!
Congratulations as well.

I got the ride of my life straped into that car at Vegas as Gene Martindale displayed the ultimate capabilities of the car around the track. On the very edge of control!!!....It was a ride in YOUR car I will never forget!!

Dave (DBK) Many thanks for making a dream a reality for me. Now, would you please edit my thread title to read "Nardo safe & sound". My articulacy will not allow me to leave it as "safe & safe". Thanks! RALLY IV in TEXAS. I will do my share!

No problem Chris! I'm glad the harassment finally paid of and of the true GT believers got this piece of history. It's great that this didn't end up in an anonymous warehouse with dozens of other cars never to be touched.

Thread title was already changed :wink

(if you want to vote on the Rally IV location, you'll have to become a Mark IV! Vote is going on now and Texas is leading N.C/Vir and Florida 29-23-11. Winner has to have a majority so if Texas can't get over 50% we'll have to have a runoff!)

Those Florida votes have to be recounted as Texas votes as per political precedence. :wink

Those Florida votes have to be recounted as Eastern votes as per geographic correctness. :wink

Combine the East with the East ?
