Edit: What about also incorporating one or more small "vent holes" above the lights in the 'bucket to allow all that built up heat to escape? They could be just plain holes, or louvers, or FILTERED holes or louvers to keep dust 'n' crudd out, or........? 'Too simple???

'Shouldn't be. Remember the inner fender panel pretty much isolates the 'buckets from road water, and the fenders, etc, would guard 'em from wash water.

Besides, that's why I suggested a "louver" option. 'Could be any kind of hole cover dictated by the hole's location. 'Shouldn't be any big deal to shield the holes from a direct water hit of some kind.

That would be the intelegent thing to do. What if one of the bulbs went out? Removable lenses would have been the best.

So Cal Dealer called and told me that they don't expect my warranty headlights for at least 4 months.

Just called Vista Ford again to see the staus of headlights on order and they said no news from supplier but theyd get back to me. Who knows when they will ctually get here. ,:confused

Just being real about the situation. if you were a supplier and had an order for 35,000 pair of F150 headlamps and an order for 250 pair of FGT headlamps, which one do you think the vendor will run first? seen this scenario too many times from suppliers such as Valeo, Guide and others thru the years. it doesn't make my day either with 2 cars both needing headlamps.

According to posts here on The 'Forum, the supplier is a casualty of the recession, and there hasn't been another set up to produce 'em as yet.

The economic woes have extended far beyond the obvious places. That sucks!

Headlights are being run as we speak. Should be available in a couple months. Guide did go out of business but Ford has the tooling and is going to produce a bunch more headlights.

Per DBK they are now being made. I really had my hope up!!!:ack

Anyone have any news on headlights yet? The dealership I ordered from (Vista Ford) is still waiting to hear...
