My parts pusher @ Tasca told me that a 4 liter whipple was available for the FGT.

I cannot find anything anywhere on the web about this. Anyone know?

Not that I´m considering upgrading:cheers

The Generation II barely fits under the rear glass now. 'Wonder what the deal would be on a 4 ltr (if it exists)? :willy

You may be thinking of the GTX1 .. no space issues on a normal GT..:wink

Doesn't the 'II just fit under the std rear window? For some reason I seem to remember someone saying there was only about a 1/2 inch or so to spare.

(At the REAR of the unit.)

My curiousity was killing me, so I called Whipple. Yes. They ARE working on a 4 liter.

And Stormy was right regarding the clearance on the current units. There's about 3" clearance (+ or -) below the 'window at the rear. 'Don't know where I read there was so much less.

The 4 liter will be about the same width & height as the previous 2 units - but, it'll be just slightly LONGER (3/4" to 1" or so).

Wow, constant upgrade path. I can't wait to see the how the 4L performs. I guess I will skip the gen 2 and if and when I upgraded it will be 4L gen 3 or whatever they end up naming it. :thumbsup

When it comes to Whipple products for the FGT, I always know Bony is 1st in line! But he seem to have skipped the gen 2 and went to gen 3. Maybe I will wait for gen 4 after Art figures out how to mount the 5L blower to the FGT. I think it will need a Gurney bubble on the rear window for clearance. One can be made easy enough out of plastic.

As a side benefit is you will never see the red lights flashing behind you, seeing only the shinny 5L in your mirror!

Whimpy 4L Bony is getting

The huge 5L that soroush will get!

Is bigger automatically better furthermore will a larger unit come to be;

As to the first question; no

With regards to the second; maybe and even understanding the answer to the first the market will welcome it with open arms.

Takes care

I got the impression from Tasca that the 4.0 liter was already available. But now I know what I want for Christmas 2009 :wink

Bony, when is that test version ready?

:cheers

Hello and Merry Christmas,
From what I know the kit to install the blower is done, but there are internals that still need to be built.

First, my association with Whipple is that we are both in Fresno, and I walk by Art's house every morning (and he knows a M cocktail (not Makers) will be tossed into his house if I don't get the first one:lol:biggrin:lol But that is it.

These things take a lot of time. I was expecting to have it for Rally III.

Best you ask Dustin who is a forum sponsor when he expects to roll out.
I will post the minute my install is done. That is not scheduled for this year.
