Gave it a sponge bath and put some shine on the paint. Full tank of gas a bit later today. Ready for a long drive - with no particalar destination in mind.

My 2005 is filthy and needs a bath. I drove it to work 3 days this week. Still a joy to drive 14 years on!

Drove mine to the local Cars and Coffee event this morning and it drew lots of attention. The most common question is about the holes in the seats and are they comfortable? Second most asked question is how fast have you taken it? Lots of nice folks interested in cars and admiring the variety at a CnC!

The most common question is about the holes in the seats and are they comfortable?

Sometimes I tell them initially that they are little speakers. That always gets a WHOA. Then I tell them they are a tribute to the original passive air conditioning technology...

The GT seat does leave an impression!

I'm often asked if the seat holes are air conditioning. I tell them they are suction cups to hold you in the seat. I took mine out for a long drive in the country roads of NW Florida and southern Alabama on Sunday. I had pickup trucks chasing me all over the place and giving me the thumbs up.

Back on June 19 I posted a picture of probably the lowest mileage on a 2006 Ford GT in existence! The Canadian 🇨🇦 GT just arrived this morning to my friends collection and it is beautiful. It has 7km on it and is still in its wrappings. It was never serviced by the delivering Dealer just checked out at the owners house and put into his collection and NEVER driven. It was pushed into the trailer and rolled out and the new owner drove it into his building for about 50 feet. It was ordered with every option available for a Canadian built GT in a great color. The vehicle had to have the air bag recalls done in Customs so it could come into the USA. The new owner doesn’t even want the axle bolts recall done on it because it would have to be taken to the dealership. Enjoy this beauty, IT Is Rare!

Last ones. Had 1.8 miles on it before it went into Customs for 30 days quarantine then to shipper!

Gentlemen,

Three years ago after our GT's returned from our European/Le Mans road trip my GT went straight to Rich Brooks for several items including painting the front trunk lid which had rock chips. Rich did a great job of course and the car looked fabulous at Rally 12 in Utah until I followed Rich for about 6 hard laps on the track. With the stock supercharger back on my car I was not fast enough nor did I posess the skill to pass so I remained right behind The GT Guy. Great fun BUT......once that session was over I saw that my beautifully painted hood was blasted with rock chips again! Ugh. So my car is back in Rich's shop to do it once more and this time no track days until clear bra is installed. Everything else will be serviced while it's there of course.

Owning the new GT has not diminished my enjoyment of the 2006 GT one bit. I love driving the old car as much as the new one. Cheers!!

My 2005 FGT is like a well worn pair of Levi's 501 blue jeans. It will be facing a sympathetic major refurb with Rich in the near future!

Slight aside to this thread: I took the family to Belize a couple years ago for a week vacation. Had a great time. English is the official language, used interchangeably with Spanish, and dollars are used everywhere. Very low friction for traveling and seeing the country and very reasonable cost, and people are very friendly and talkative. Belize is a great undiscovered vacation spot if you want to do the Caribbean and beaches/diving/Mayan ruins/etc. Get out of the city and go exploring.
