To carry on the tradition of New Orleans and Sonoma, there will be a cooking event in Vegas at Rally IX. IndyGT’s wife Jennifer started this great idea. Ed Sims' wife Heidi arranged the Sonoma event. This year, Amy, Xcentric’s Sig-O, arranged another spectacular event for Vegas. The Rally IX event, named Swanky Simon by the Pool, takes place at Simon at Palms, adjacent to the Palms Resort and Casino. Chef Simon appeared on Iron Chef America as both a competitor and a judge. In 2005, Chef Simon defeated Chef Cat Cora on Iron Chef America. Chef Simon is scheduled to make an appearance during this event, and could be the primary chef for our lunch.
The event includes a sparkling wine toast and introduction to Chef Simon (and/or his executive Chef Rich Tapia), cooking demonstration (3 courses), lunch (3 courses), and wine pairing for each course (introduced by Simon’s Sommelier). The cost is $260. The fee includes everything listed above. Transportation is separate, but group taxis will be arranged from the Delano and the car show. Our event will take place on Wednesday, 15 October, between 11:30 and 2:30 at the fabulous poolside venue located inside Palms.
The event will accommodate 20 guests. The first 19 checks (Amy is number 20) for $260 made to Amy Harding will be the participants.
