Valentine V1 Install in <10 Steps

Thanks for the help, guys.

Hey Craig,

Your pictures were 100x better than the instructions.

Thanks!

Wired and ready now.

Wow. This thing works great on Ka band.

Hey Bony

Did you ever get Motorsport Image to contact you? I can send you a connector if you still want one.

there are many places that do a stealth install of the valentine ones remote display in the rear view mirror. This is the first link on google with pictures.

Look at the picture I posted. Go to any store and buy a phone cord and make your own. Cost $1.00 and no freight!

Where do you put the unit then? Valentine says the best place is over the mirror. Seems as it would be right above the stealth mirror. If you put the unit on the dash it won't be optimum for laser. If you stick it out in the grille it won't be optimum for radar. So the Valentine solution is to put the unit over the mirror and the remote display down low some where. The Mirror solution looks like an expensive mistake. ???? :eek

I have run the V1 for over a year and it has saved me countless times.

I swear by it!

but I don't have the matching nuclear light if I was to buy an Escort.........:lol

OBTW let me take this time to also say Frank BEARS ARE KICKING BUTT!

Thanks for your pics from above and the information. I took it to a Car Toys on Tuesday, and they hardwired my Passport 8500 above the mirror. They had never heard of that, and appreciated the pictures. Charged 1/2 of what the behind the dash install was going to be, and looks great there.

does the V1 have a remote mute button ? if so , can you route it without wires ?

I think the full unit V1 works well right above the mirror, easy to discreetly mute, as it's right in front of you. At my last roadside interview, I didn't get any comments about the detector, so I think it somewhat blends in...

That is exactly the way I have it. I have been very happy with the performance so far.

I use old credit cards to pry things open (hotel keys will work also).

I wondered why my posterior was sore after Indy. DOH!!!

Syco, the problem in CA is the CHP is upgrading to Lidar and the V1 won't help much in that case.

Is there a Lidar solution?

Lidar jamers work, but are not legal in CA.

Lidar?

I'm not familiar with Lidar but; hell, speeding is illegal so what if you had a lidar detector also? Cannibal has a great traffic/DMV attorney!

Because is the police don't like you for some reason, it gives them another thing they can charge you with! Look at OJ!

Best thing for my driving career was meeting my attorney / wife who was able to get me off of 9 tickets last year.. of course they were all bs bogus deals and the judge saw that :willy

I love my wife :biggrin
