The Mighty GT-R: A Legitimate Threat to GT Supremecy?

A friend of mine said it best. Owning a GTR is like having a 3" Penis and bragging about how much Viagra you have access to. In the end it is a 3" penis.

Sorry to hear that Sam. I guess your friend got tired of hearing about how much Viagra you had access to.

:rofl

I would go for a test ride or two! :lol

People often complain about the GT-R looks, but personally I feel this side profile shot really shows off the curves in an aesthetically pleasing fashion.

The accessory pictured above is worth far more to me than the car. :biggrin

Very nice!! :lol

This isn't a full-blown Ford GT versus Nissan GT-R comparison, but it's my opinion based on plenty of seat time in both:

As always, great article. I would love to engage the launch control....in someone else's car. :rofl

Contraire Mon Freire, I drive a GT because I can still raise it with a thought...:willy:willy:willy

Traction control is for girls :lol

So are paddle shifters.

Hey Mitty - did you ever write up your thoughts and comparisons on the GTR ? I'm curious to read them, as I've enjoyed your other posts
Thanks !

Where the hell is Mitty?

I considered getting the GT-R when I wanted to get a daily driver but ended up with a Porsche Turbo Cabriolet as I was longing for a Cab but I really wouldn't mind getting a GT-R as a true daily driver. After owning a Mitsubishi EVO X MR for a year now, I can atest driving a twin clutch car is just as involving as a manual car with a clutch. I can also feel the chassis, the throttle blip, and can now concentrate on what the steering is doing with my hands on the wheel all the time and on the line. Afterall, all F1 cars have paddle shifters. And the power is always there as the car is almost always in the right gear at the meaty part of the torque band. My EVO has about 370 HP and it's already that exciting to drive, I can imagine the GT-R with another 200 HP (modded of course, friends don't let friends drive unmodded) can be absolutely a blast. As to the tranny breaking after many hard launches, if one drives the car like it is meant to be driven - fast and as a road racer and not as a drag racer, the clutch should hold up just fine. And people already are starting to figure out how to put heavier duty clutches in the twin clutch trans.

short review... sorry :biggrin

Chip's Review.

The Mighty GT-R: A Legitimate Threat to GT Supremecy?

No.

Everyone that I know who owns one is very impressed!

What is the SP570 kit?

Are we talking about the V-Spec?

Its much better looking in person....esp at night

Its very wide, hunkered down, haunches, flared; from back the dual old school ferrari/vette lights are jewel like with LEDs, and set it off nicely

The interior fit/finish looked like porsche quality; dash graphics were like a Gulfstream V.

At night the dash graphics light up the whole cockpit....you can see the needles moving on the center 6-guage LCD readout from another car.....looks like a spacecraft, might be worth it just for this effect.

I'm looking forward to Mitty's review

We've built a few of these into fully caged track kings and their owner's LOVE them.

I'm expecting the first car we built to come back out here in November or early December for Stage 2 of the build. They are pretty incredible cars. They respond amazingly well to performance modifications. Just throwing this out there but we last week we ran a 2.9 0-60. We had a bone-stock GTR out there for comparison tests and it ran a 3.9 0-60.
