Saturday morning, a bunch of GT'ers managed to drag ourselves out of bed, after the Big Rally Auction Dinner, and head out to Sealy, Texas to take John Hennessey and Don Goldman up on their invitation to visit their motorsports facility.
A smooth drive out there, and we immediately availed ourselves off a delicious spread of Texas BBQ. There really is nothing quite like Texas hospitality. The first thing the Hennessey staff told us when we arrived, was to help ourselves to some food and drinks. My kind of people...
Then Dave Golder provided a couple walking tours of the impressively clean, large, and well organized facility. This place is BIG! This picture only shows a part of the many bays.
We got to take a closer look at the new Camaro with LS9 engine, a variety of SRT vehicles, and even a fun car being prepped for the "Lemons" rally.
The fun cranked up a few more notches. They brought us out to their 1/4 mile track, and it was like the first time I visited a nice house as a teenager and the owners had a single bowling alley arcade machine. You could bowl all day if you wanted to.
It was like that kind of feeling. They ran the staging lights and time slips for us.
The guys were like kids in a candy store. I did a couple runs in my GT, and then headed out to the Houston Airport with Apollo and his wife. I could have stayed all day. :banana
Ed Sims made a bunch of passes. And then he made some more...And then...
Soroush gets ready to make a pass.
Really want to thank Don Goldman, John Hennessey, Dave Golder, and the staff at HPE/LMP for opening up their doors with welcoming arms to the GT'ers. :thumbsup
