Steep decline in FGT Values

Those pictures with Carroll were the first time he had any contact with the GT Forum members and Dave and I were the only two that knew he was going to make his appearance at dinner. He told me "I don't know if I will fit in with those people Tomy". He stayed long enough to have his picture taken with everyone who was there and on way down the escalator he told Sue and I " hell Tomy these are my kind of people". We all had a great night with Carroll and Cleo.

I made a sticker with his autograph but no photos of me & Carroll. I do have a few of me with Dr Frank though!

Your timing is good. Start a thread that you are a ready, cash buyer, describe exactly what you want and state your price range. As long as you are reasonable with your price range, you should get responses. You'll be surprised how many people would sell simply because you're making it a painless transaction.

OK, Sinovac - taking your advice!
Folks please take a look over in the "Searching" threads:

Carroll was a gentleman. My wife and I supported the foundation with a donation at the 2009 Barrett Jackson auction.

The ones with Dr P should be valuable as the years pass.

Yep, GT prices are somewhat lower right now. Time to get on the buying train!!!

Isn't that Rodger Waters from Pink Floyd?

Too bad these great pix are going to be lost in one of the millionth value discussion thread...

Dude, don’t go blow’n my cover !! :eek :cool

Mine wasn't for sale at more, it sure as hell isn't for sale at less!

I have a midnight blue, no stripe, standard radio, alloy wheeled, 12K car. I would not even talk to anyone unless North of 400K. Way North.

Then again, I don't want to sell. :wink

Hagerty has it down to $290-340K from $300-375K last May, for condition 1-2 cars

https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationtools/2005-ford-gt

My take is GT is about to rotate into "permanent collection" category for most collectors; meaning less float of available cars will spike prices forever.

Same happened with Carrera GT, Enzo, Mc F1; no reason to sell.

One caveat; I dont think they will ever be $1 million cars for awhile.

Took 300SL, Miuras, F 275, 911 RS 2.3 like 30 years; for cars with production#s of >750-1500+, trajectories are flatter v. <100 production cars. Same reason e-Types, Daytonas, Ghibilis wont be either.

Definitely some 2014 bubble.

Your observations all ring true to me.

Hagerty's new Jan '17 #s do show a small up-tick from Sept '16. Sure hope I am "rotating one into my permanent collection" well before the next climb.

Everyone here should have one assuming it's "in the budget."
