Seat Covers?


Interior Stuff

Just went to the site and ordered a windshield heat/uv shield for my arriving_any_day_now 2005. Looks like he does excellent work.
Which brings me to the topic of another interior item - the center console. Are there any carbon replacements for it and/or leather covers for it - or some such? Looks like a part that is just waiting to get scratched, ruined, etc. I'd like to take out the original, keep it for the long-term, and go with a replacement part. Does such a thing exist?

I have them, they are a little loose, but I am use to them now and don't mind the fit. They are water tight, a fact I did not appreciate until making a run in the Santa Monica Mtns with the So Cal GT Boys in June and my water bottle tipped around a corner and I was able to dry it up without H2O going down into the seat well.

They function well, owner preference, but certainly not a henious addition to the best super car ever built.

couch covers

My mom used to put those clear plastic covers on the couch & recliner in our house. I hated them.

A decent leather man can replace the leather on your seats in the future. The replaced leather on some of the GTXs looked nicely done. Or you can buy new seats from Ford. Or install standard Sparcos (they bolt right to our rails) & save the OEM seats for your wife to put back in the GT when you die.

Good point. I'd like it to be OEM when they bury me in it at the gravesite.
 
the nice thing about seat covers is that if you wear shorts in the summer,your legs don't stick to the leather seats
 
Got my seat covers from [email protected]OME! FIT AND CRAFTSMANSHIP SUPERB!! The padding makes the seats so comfortable my wife is thrilled!!Also nice to have the right size dash saver/reflector.

I always check the butt of my passengers b4 they sit in car to make sure they don't dirty up the seat, and when I was doing that during the El Toro autox, people thought I was gay. The seat cover will help me appear to be less gay because I won't have to check their butts anymore, so it'd be a good purchase. :banana

I only check the butts of young women! Any apparent dirt is gladly brushed off before entry. Guys with dirty butts are just denied entry!

I like the Ford racing seat covers.

And I don't even have any! Like some other members on this forum, I did not like the way they looked as pictured on Ford Racing's website. But when I saw them in person during the California rally I liked them a lot. They looked and felt like exactly what they are, durable, utilitarian, cooler than bare leather, very protective, while offering good fit and easy installation. No seat cover will look as good as the bare seats and if optimum looks are what one is after, skip the seat covers. But if somebody is looking for something quick and easy to protect the seats of your car, you'll probably like the Ford racing seat covers a lot more in person than in that website photo. At least I did and I do intend to purchase a set for my GT. JMO

I just talked to him a few minutes ago. I will likely order a set myself. He sounds like a nice guy. I wish he had a pic of the version that has the cut-outs for the vent holes in the seat, as that set sounds like the better one to have if you leave the covers on all the time and want to be able to have the look of the original seat.
