After months of anticipation, it's ready!!

The Replacement Aluminum Shifter Boot Bezel & Parking Brake Boot Kit.

I've worked hard on this one with my team, by coming up with the finishing touch to the the center tunnel console.

As you all are aware, GT's come equipped with a Rubber shifter boot and Emergency brake boot.
Both are prone to aging and cracking, and those of you that have upgraded to a short shifter kit are plagued with an ill fitting and or pinched boot.

If you order this kit you can basically do an interior "RUBBER DELETE"

To install, all you have to do is unscrew your shifter knob, pull the factory rubber shifter boot out, and replace with this Aluminum Bezel kit.
3-Hex screws tighten it into place, no drilling or hacking!! You can always put the factory boot back if you want.
The Parking Brake Boot can be placed over top of the factory rubber boot, or replace it. It looks much better and more full with the old factory boot underneath.

The Shifter bezel is machined billet aluminum, which is clear anodized, with a smaller ring at the top of the base of the boot, also of the same material and finish.
A small hex, set-screw in the upper ring allows you to adjust the height of the boot - to your personal preference.

To throw a few facts out that I am sure many of you are curious about:

- It's not a leather boot! Reason is that due to the inner component/mechanisms below the boot, leather is prone to get damaged and crack.
- The Boots are made of a Hybrid flexible Vinyl that matches the GT interior and is also Matte black. (Only you as the owner won't know it's not leather!)
- Leather does not provide enough flexibility to allow smooth operation of the shifter- which is imperative for safe shifting!
- The shifting functionality is not effected by this kit - the kit is simply an aesthetic modification.

- The clean anodizing is the only finish at this time - if you wish to have another color anodized or polished finish please contact me so we can discuss further options/availability

- Pricing is $475 + $30S/H for the complete kit

- The reason we are doing a Pre-order is to put together a batch of orders, these cannot be made individually and we must meet the minimum production quota.

You can go ahead and pre-order on the ExotiCARE - GT Accessory page

Have a look at the factory boots vs the new kit!

TO CLARIFY:
(Note: that the GT Pictured below is fitted with a short shift kit, as well as the FORD RACING Shifter knob and shaft).
This product will fit Both factory and aftermarket shafts!

Hold on

I said hold on because I needed to gather my thoughts as this is far more IMO than simply an aluminum shifter bezel/boot; this is the result of a long R&D process during which numerous considerations were tackled.

Folks may find it interesting to know that the initial concept was a shift gate however throughout the lengthy R&D processes a linty of obstacles had to be overcome for example; it had to work with the OEM shifter, the Ford Racing short shifter, as well as the shifters with the larger diameter shaft sleeve.

Because of the placement and articulation differences between the OEM and the Ford Racing short shifter as well as the optional larger diameter shaft the shift gate was deemed unacceptable and a new direction defined which ultimately resulted in this piece.

This Andrew is another truly wonderful personal touch item

very nice!

looks great!

Are you bringing the kits to Rally IV? If so, put me down for one kit and we'll save shipping hassles. Please advise.
I'm assuming that this fits properly with the OEM shifter shaft/knob, although you have the short-throw pictured. Please advise.

Not sure if I'll be at the Rally

But we are building orders for production right now. We have to meet the minimum quota before production can begin.

And yes this will fit STOCK shafts as well as after market shafts.

Two different top rings sizes are being made.

Thanks

GREAT JOB as always Andrew, I'm in as well :thumbsup:thumbsup

pics with a stock shifter?

I'm in for one.:thumbsup

Unbreakable willpower.

That looks really good.

But I really don't need one.

Appearance is much nicer than stock.

But I've been spending way too much money lately and need to cool it.

That in combination with the thick Ford Racing shift lever sleeve and custom ball looks really trick.

But my business sucks right now and money is tight.

So I'm not going to spend too much time looking at those photos........a 15 minute study ought to do it.

Then I'll click this thread off and forget about it. I'm not buying any more stuff! I am a rock with tremendous resolve.

One more look at those photos can't hurt.

Good grief............. I think I gotta have that.

Ordered.
