Ford GT National Rally 7 *Registration*! Who's in?

Done.

Registered and Booked!!

I'm in.

Ok, I finally was able to get my hotel reservations but the online feature from our Forum was not working this morning so I had to call. I will be staying there from Sat Oct 6 to Sun Oct 14 or Mon Oct 15. It depends on the car transport. I've stayed one day past the Rally in the past & it's always been relaxed fun with a few diehards. Before the Rally starts on Wed evening I'll be exploring the back roads of LA & MS. I've done it a lot in a rent-a-car but now I'll try it in the GT. My cousin is a MS State Hwy Patrolman & he says they give us 10mph (in MS that is).

Be careful Ed...the MHP can get malignant if you are way out of wack...like over 100..

But, they have only stopped me once in my GT..just to ask what it was.

Dave - since things are now coming together... (sign up complete, hotel reserved etc) I am thinking of the Trailer-Trip from Detroit to NewOrleans. Questions:
--what is the best route ?
--Once we arrive with the trailer/GT/F-series , can we go to the track and leave the trailer and truck and then drive to the Hotel? or does the hotel have big parking lots for many trailers ?

Looking for some details...

I made the drive down to New Orleans earlier in the year, but I stopped in Jonesboro to see Shelby on the way down. I think the easiest route from this area would be through Ohio to Nashville, down to Birmingham Alabama and over. That is one long day and one short day driving. Or two medium days. Or one REALLY long day. :lol We might think about getting together a caravan (fjikpul, Indy GT, timcantwell, Lightning, etc) since so many people with be in that general vicinity in the center of the country. Or maybe we could even meet in Jonesboro? The drive down from Jonesboro is an easy half day.

Yes, you can and will need to leave your trailer at the track. There is nowhere to put a trailer in downtown New Orleans. The Hotel is only 15.1 miles from the Track, so it should be a quick 20 minute trip to the hotel after.

Pre-rally?

You guys need to come through Jonesboro. This would be a great "HALFWAY" stop for you guys. I could get everyone a special Rate at the Hilton Garden Inn here in Town which is a brand new hotel and also only about 1 mile or less down the road from Elite Autos. I would be happy to plan a dinner for that night and then we could get up the next morning and go the rest of the way to New orleans. Its a Very easy drive from here to NOLA, so it makes sense if we can get everyone on board. We could also store all the GTs that are driven here inside the shop overnight if anyone is concerned about leaving their car outside. Who would be down for this?

I would be interested in the drive from Detroit to Jonesboro..

So far for people that it would not be significantly out of the way I see:

fjpikul
Indy GT
BigInch Blake
Topshot
AJB
DBK
rollingperformance
Brad Cline
Lightning
The Grey Ghost
Shelbyelite

Wwabbit is probably a little too far.

Let's do it!

I like the idea of stopping to see Shelby and his 'store'.
-Exactly what route from Detroit is recommended ?
-does the hotel have a good parking lot for trucks with trailers ?
-estimated hours of driving time (not driving like Ralphie or Jeff) but pulling the GT in my trailer with F-series ?
-Route and hours to get to the track the next day to unload, park, drive to NewOrleans..?
Any information is much appreciated...

The hotel will have enough room for the trailers. Also, trailers could be parked in our gated parking lot at elite autos. We have several security cameras that are recorded 24/7

The central point is around Memphis. Jonesboro is not far away, but is is out of the way a bit. From Memphis to NO is I-55 all the way. All are welcome to stop in St. Louis at my place to start the Rally to the Rally. Memphis to NO should be about 7 hours. StL to Memphis about 5 hours. I thought about Tunica (gambling, casinos), but again, out of the way. I am working on this.

We are only 50 minutes from Memphis.
