Is there any new products on the market in this area??

I see that Ray's car have ceramic brakes, and it looks to be the kit from the ZR1, but I don't suppose the 15,5" rotor and calliper would fit inside the stock 18" front wheel??

Anyone??

Well of course - if anyone he is the carbon-hollic on this board..:lol
Keep us posted Stormcat...

How complicated is the ZR1 conversion? Do you have to upsize the wheels?

Yes.

Yes I had to go with the bigger wheels but DAMN does she stop now :biggrin

Would HIGHLY recommend it.

I'm crazy about the Stillen/AP Racing big brake set up for our GTs. Amazing increase in stopping power & longevity. Bolt on, no need for new wheels, light weight & fairly inexpensive. One of the biggest comments I get on my GT is "Whoa, look at the size of those brakes!"

Hi Ed,

Who sells the Stillen/AP Racing big brake? How much? who has the specs? So do I replace the rotors & brake pads and that is it? Thanks!

I just finished putn the zr1 brakes on my car. I did them alittle different than Stormcat. I modified the uprights so the corvette brakes would mount up without moddifing the calipers. With Stormcats you can bolt your factory brakes right back up, but if there were a caliper failure (IE unlikely) you couldn't just buy a caliper from a dealer and mount it up, with mine you can but you got to modify the uprights, so its either buy a set of uprights to retain your factory ones or moddify your factory ones and not be able to bolt your factory brakes back up. once you go carbon you wont go back:) Rays brakes are done the same as mine as i built the fixtures to do it all and i think the brakes speek for them selves:)

Which wheels did you go with? How did you paint the calipers?

Pictures are worth a thousand words!! :biggrin

Hi GT4JR - Yes, Kyle at Stillen is the person. He is a vendor on this Forum. Shadowman installed them & worked with Kyle on dialing them in for me. Unbelievable power & fade resistance!

To take this thread off topic..... Ray, does your car use the OEM knuckle? Obviously none of the other OEM suspension components are used.... I just cant quite see the spindle in the pic.
