Bugatti Veyron....It's what's for lunch.

Was this Veyron the standard version or the Super Sport version?

You guys are nuts! I'll take a Veyron any day of the week!

No matter what it looks like it goes 267 mph STOCK! To me it's one of those things that is ugly until you read what it does, and then it becomes a whole lot better looking. It's an automotive psycho, and we're lucky some suckers somewhere were gullible enough to greenlight the inevitable millions in losses so we can say "Holy shit that thing is fast!" :lol

I would speculate that the broken shaft cost you more than just a lack of boost. It probably created drag resulting in parasitic power loss. Hope she's fixed up soon!

I would remove and clean the intercooler also. If the compressor blade touched the housing then some small bits of aluminum might be lodged in the passages of the intercooler.

Chip, I KNOW there's a 230 MPH in your future!!!

Freddy,

It was the standard Veyron.

Freeflyer,

That has been done. Two small pieces were found lodged in the intercooler. Everything in the intake track has been disassembled and inspected. Oil filter cut apart and oil examined. A few very small pieces recovered. The pop off valve on the right side turbo was frozen 1/4 open. This prevented that turbo from producing much boost and that's why #34 was dogging it. It's surprising that we ran 213 with only 1 1/2 turbos.

I hope so Kendall, but that # is a tough nut to crack. But make it or not, most of the joy is in the journey. I'm learning a lot along the way. There is a lot of Cool Tech work and mods in my car. See you soon bro.

213 with a malfunctioning induction system, that is an impressive feat by itself! Looking forward to hearing what 34 does when running at full potential.

I 'm sure the Frenchman's unhappiness with your car outperforming the Bugatti broke your heart Chip.

I wish I had seen that.

HAHA Totally agree Dave!! All comparisons and arguments aside, Just so hard to justify one car vs 10 Ford GTs :willy

So you already have the 10 GT's. Next step is.........

A friend told me today that the new Car & Driver mag had an article on Mojave Mile.... It immediately reminded me of what Chip ATE for lunch at the event..... So, I went out to pick up the mag...... All I can say is....WTF!! No mention of FGT, let alone Chip's runs with the Veyron... There is a pix with #34 lined up with the Veyron. Well, I should have known better that Bugatti would have done everything it could to not have the spanking mentioned in the mag.

Still doesn't make the Veyron any less ugly.

I had a feeling that was going to happen.

Hmmm, how about a letter to the editor? It probably wouldn't get published anyway.

Interested to hear the postmortem on the turbos.

Saw the pic as well. Wondered why there was no mention.
