Love the threads and especially the pics you and Chip are providing of your great time at LeMans. Go GT!!

Keep us updated !! : )

Tuesday - Set 1

Our hosts could not treat anyone nicer than they are treating our group! I arrived at the track about an hour ago, and am being treated to an espresso. Here are some pictures from yesterday's activities:

Picture 1 - The Matech Hospitality Suite - each side of the trailer is an enclosed eating (and drinking) area on a wood deck. The trailer itself contains the kitchen where the food is prepared.

Picture 2 - Our group and others having lunch on one side of the Suite. Doesn't Andy look happy!

Picture 3 - Each of the director chairs has the name of a previous winner of Le Mans embroidered on the back - of course, I chose this one

Picture 4 - Romain Grosjean (Driver - Car 60)

Picture 5 - Natacha Gachnang, Cyndie Allemann, Rahel Frey (Drivers - Car 61)

Tuesday - Set 2

For those of you who watched the 3rd GT1 Race at Brno, you know that it was the fabulous work of the pit crew that won the race. Here are some shots of one of their practices. Each car has its own complete crew -

Picture 1 - Pit Practice

Picture 2 - Pit Practice

Picture 3 - Pit Practice

Picture 4 - Pit Practice

Picture 5 - Guess who?, standing beside the car - notice the side stripes :thumbsup

Tuesday - Set 3

The track - Andy and Margaret, Dave B. and Chip walked the complete circuit (8.5 miles) yesterday. I did about half, taking a short cut from the middle of Mulsanne Straight to Arnage.

Picture 1 - Franchesca and Dave (before we left)

Picture 2 - Looking up the pit straight

Picture 3 - Start/Finish Straight in front of the grandstands

Picture 4 - Entrance of the Start/Finish Straight from the Porsche Chicane

Picture 5 - Guess who, at the Finish Line

Tuesday - Set 4

Our most generous host - Martin Bartech, owner of the Matech organization. Superbly friendly and one of the most generous men I've ever met.

Wednesday - Set 1

More Pictures of the Hospitality Suite -

Picture 1 - Kahti at the Serving Table - she insists on plying us with food and wine throughout the event. During the race, she will be serving the complete 24 hours of the race (and before/after) - duplicated in each side of the Suite

Picture 2 - There is a soft drink/fruit juice/beer/water cooler in each side of the Suite.

Picture 3 - The wine and dessert table (Camilo's painting beside it) :thumbsup

Picture 4 - On the west side of the Suite, there is also a patio for those who prefer to eat outside. Complete with an exact replica of P/1075 (notice the door handles!!) and Martin's black striped street GT.

Picture 5 - Another view of the patio area.

All I can say is WOW!!! :banana:banana:banana:banana

You guys that decided to go made the right choice. As others have said really enjoy the pictures and posts from our Forum members who are attending so keep it them coming.

Tell Matech we are behind them 200% with their endeavors at 2010 Le Mans and looking forward to a win.

My son is trying to get a live Le Mans coverage setup for me so I can watch in Jakarta either by internet or slingbox. If he does know where I'll be this weekend. :biggrin:biggrin:biggrin

GO Matech !!!

Ralphie your are looking great sitting in Phil's chair. Brings back some pretty great memories.

If you get a few moments, go into the Aston Martin enclave and ask to meet my friend Robin Donnovan. His company, Delligatto, usually is the host for the A/M family and friends at the 24. Robin did race Porsche 962's at Le Mans for something like 14 years. And he knows everybody! And that is not an understatement. Ask him about going his midnight tour and wine drinking fest at Indy.

And if you can - sign up for the helicopter track tour. Well worth the $$. If you do, try and get a time when the cars are on track. And someone with a video camera in the right seat. Janet and I did this at the Vintage race in 2008, and I'd do it again if I had the chance.

You all seem to be seriously haviing too much fun. Keep it up.:cheers

Jeff

p.s. post a of photo of Camilo's Matech painting for us.

How Exciting!! All done with the business and now time to play!
We will be arriving late tomorrow afternoon, where can we find you all?
Also on a side note, anyone out there have a US flag for the window? My English friends are giving us a hard time about the US / England football (soccer) match this weekend and have been flaunting the old St. George everywhere we go. We just may sneak in a win :banana:banana and we would love to have them change the flag...:biggrin

Thanks Ralphie for this cool pics. Unfotunately i can´t be there tomorrow afternoon because i have to take the train late in the afternoon so i will arrive about 10pm at Le Mans. I will be on the track early friday morning i hope so. Wish you all a lot of fun, enjoy good food and wine (but don´t drink and drive) and go Matech go

Pierre
