Mullet's Texas Mile update thread

Bigger Jet Bigger Jet Bigger Jet !

Bigger jets, Nano Bottle and Meth injection should get Soroush past the 230 mark.

what is the DA today? are there any winds?

a bike just ran 261

wind is changing to a tailwind

my goal is to hit 200 mph at the Mojave Mile but i may just end up doing it at the Texas Mile first since their track is lower elevation. back in the spring of 2008 when i went to the Texas Mile in my Viper they had two GT's there go over 200 mph with nothing more than just a Whipple. i believe that the Tungsten one that i saw go 204 mph still holds the mile record for a Whipple only :thumbsup

at the Mojave Mile i think its gonna take a whipple and some nitrous unless you get a mineshaft DA with a HUGE tailwind.

of course twin turbos will get you 200+ mph not matter what track you are at but that would be to easy for me. i want to go 200+ mph in the mile with a Whipple so that will be my next upgrade along with the Borla headers, Hoosiers, etc :cheers

A final note.

Everybody here asks "How fast did you go?" 213. Then they ask, "what's your goal this weekend?". 200 :banana

The $35,000 T-shirt looks awesome! Check this item off the bucket list Gentlemen! :cheers

Chip

Congratulations Chip! That makes the long trip worthwhile. Are you running race gas or pump?

Peak with a 229

Chip with a consistent 214

Freddy I had the same goals. However Mojave is a tough, or nearly impossible track for just a Whipple to hit 200 in the mile. Poor air density, 1% grade uphill, poor traction, and moderate to strong winds. If they reverse the course so that it was downhill with cross/tail winds it would be a bit better.

I ran a 21PSI pulley but was only getting 18PSI due to the thin air. For Mojave a Whipple powered FGT might have to up the pulley to 23 PSI and run race gas to have a change to break 200. Also would have to modify the car to get lower discharge air temps even though the air temps were ideal in the 55-62F. I saw the IAT2 rising throughout the run, thus reducing timing and power as you go down the runway.

Nice

Heard Soroush hit 221 on pass 1

Sounds like somebody pack up his "A Game" and brought it to the track.

Just returned from The Mile

Beautiful weather, saw many familiar faces, lots of machinery, had incredible BBQ in Lockhart.....just a really great day!.. Ray and DBK were taping off the gaps on Ray's car as the techs "tweaked" it for the next run. Chip was awaiting his next pass. Saw Doctor V-8 and Soroush. I saw Mullet's car but did not see him. Silverbullitt's car was there but not in the event. Good luck to all of y'all!!:cheers:thumbsup

Hey Chip, did you make your run on pump gas or some'n more potent?

Ray (Peak Completions)

I thought it was his black gal; I did not know that the yellow gal was being exercised.

Thank you

A little press for the event, Peak and myself..........

Many of the racers came as part of teams, complete with mechanics and a trailer in tow, and with the cars on display along a parallel strip of asphalt to the raceway for spectators. Of these was Jason Stevens, from Houston, of Joe Dirt Racing, who proudly displayed his fastest speed from three runs on Friday - 219.1 mph - in tape on his white Ford GT's windshield.

His car displayed the image of David Spade's mullet-wearing character on a Texas-shaped logo on the side of the car, and a license plate that read "Mullet." His other sports car, a Mercedes S600, has "Joe Dirt" its license plates, he said.

Stevens said he wasn't racing the second day because on that final run, the car blew a spark plug. Running it again at those speeds would probably cause the engine to crater, he said.

The car had held the standing mile record for Ford GTs after running a 226 mph here in October, he said. That record has since fallen after someone in Florida ran a 252.97 mph, Steven said.

"The car is basically stock, it comes supercharged," he said. "I've added two turbos, so it's supercharged and twin turboed. Stock, they put out 550 horsepower, and this one is putting out 1,000."

"This car is a stock engine with turbos, his is a very built race car."

guess he got my "spark plug" mixed up with a probable burnt valve. :lol

Sorry to hear about the burnt valve ending your weekend. Hope it is a painless repair.
