new standing mile record for Ford GT...or any other car

All the GT's ran strong.. My little ol' pulley and tune car ran 195 mph and some change. Camilo ran in the 189-190 mph range..:thumbsup

195 mph is a world record for a pulley and tune GT. congratulations man :cheers

curious to see what Torrie ran...they are saying 220+

seems like an awesome day for the GT

I ran :

218
219
220.5
221

here is the site for the team that went 253 mph > http://www.performancepoweronline.com/video.html#v5

it sure looks fast on the video, he went into sixth gear, he must have been flying:banana, on my run at the mile I never shifted into sixth.

Different gears.

195.(what)?

I had a 195.5 with a pulley and tune.

I am betting the tailwind what signifigant considering my pulley and tune run was with a strong tailwind.

it was just a matter of time when this car (Performance Power) did this speed. I'm not suprised.

well if you want to get technical i believe stormcat was on stock tires and you were on slicks?

but regardless they are both faster times than me, so my hat is off to both of you :usa

geared up i would assume then?

I bet the supra guys are pissed. :lol Did the GT run with the clamshell on or off? I hope it holds the record longer than the CTS-V did for fastest 4 door. :bored

Different gears.

ya that makes alot of sense now, but what will he be limited to with 390 at sixth, isnt it around the 250 mark????:confused

I heard it had a sequential box or at least some kind of straight cut gearset so I don't know what the final drive is. I'd imagine they were custom.

Yep those guys have all sorts of stuff happening outside of stock on this car for sure. They hit the mark though !!

Bingo, yes it has a custom gear box, Why IDK? A gt will go 268 in 5th at 8500rpms and i know they spin that thing pretty hard, so why waste all that money on a expensive trans? But 253 is flying:thumbsup

Yea it has a straight cut gearbox, no clutch. You can hear it on their dyno videos.

He sure does have a big diffuser on the back of that thing. Wonder how he didn't flip over backwards :eek

On a side note....

when I broke my axle we bought a set from these guys. Mine were his spare set. They said they can handle 2000hp.

FYI...Just spoke to the coordinator of the event.

Regarding the world record run.

The TT FGT was supposedly running 1600+rwhp on motor only. He had a 2 stage nitrous system in it. 1st stage-100 shot. Full stage-300 shot.

On the world record run, he only used a 100 shot as he couldn't keep the power down with the full 300. He missed a gear, and hit 252.972. If he could hold traction with a 300 shot, and not miss a gear, he believes he could hit 260-261mph. The builder had just put new gears in it, and was unsure if the tranny would be working properly.

wow

HP???

They should be rated in torque at the axles, HP is meaningless!

There is a limit to the yield and tensile strength of materials with the limiting factor being defined by the transaxle's spline dimensions.

Very impressive run!!!

My apologies for the doubts in my mind when I 1st read the claims for this car. It is the real deal!
