Will putting a Whipple on hurt the value?

I personally would NEVER mod a GT! :biggrin

Has anyone seen the white and orange GT lately. I think it was for sale at Champion Motors on Long Island. That car is probably the best example of non reversible Mods. It would be an indicator of the present feeling about modded GT's.

Uhhhhhhhhhh...'don't believe that car is representitive of modded GT's at all. That car is, shall we say, in a zip code all it's own?

What do you guys think about the twin turbo set up being I am considering this?

'Only gripe I'd have about that mod is the two holes drilled in the rear diffuser for the waste gate "exhaust pipes". I'd like 2C the pipes exit in some other, "non-chop" manner. (And there MUST be one.)

'Don't know. But, I would expect so.

Anyway, that'd still be cuttin' holes! :biggrin

Well, I don't know. I would think they'd "stand out" more coming out thru the rear mesh, wouldn't they?:shrug I mean, one would have to actually be LOOKING for the 'pipes 2c 'em exiting thru the diffuser, whereas "there they are just lookin' atcha" coming out thru the rear mesh.

Regardless, it'll pbly never be an issue I'll ever have to deal with! :lol

Master Purist

Now one of the other gals that I have always had a soft spot for is the Veyron and they have their waste gate discharge pipes located in a very similar manner.

Now having said this I have never looked very close at those in question here however I suspect the exit is similar.

All the best

Lets start a thread, .. will my penile extension make me less desirable to the opposite sex? :)

Furthermore; this thread could be used as an example of how far away from topic a thread can go.

Takes care

There probably is, but the waste gate pipes as installed by Heffner are virtually invisible unless you get down on the ground and look at them and they are as functional and un-obtrusive as possible IMHO. That being said, I'm sure with more work (and money) it can be improved aesthetically, but probably not functionally. Just my $.02 worth.

'Agree 100% with everything you mentioned. Like I said, one really has to LOOK FOR the 'exhausts comin' outta the diffuser to see 'em. Pbly not one person in a thousand would ever spot 'em unless they got down on the ground and HUNTED. But... I'd know my car had those holes drilled in it! And that'd be a pblm for me!

(My point from the 1st post is/was I'm not comfortable with cutting holes in any part of the GT for any reason. Yup! I'm as anal a purist as they come in this area! :biggrin :cheers)

I'm pretty 'anal' too! :lol I guess one possible solution for guys like us is just buy another rear diffuser if one wants to 'put it back' to stock. :cheers

"stand out"...you say that as if its a bad thing :biggrin besides if you gota cut do you wana cut the 1400 dollar diffuser or the ??? dollar rear grill?

Continue on nothing to see here folks :lol:lol:lol

Adding a Whipple adds tremendous value to me! What it does for resale? I don't know, don't care.
