Well, Christmas has come early for me this year.......after lurking for a few months and reading countless educational posts, I am the new proud owner of a White Ford GT:thumbsup

I had almost made the mistake of purchasing an NSX, but after going to Sebring for one of the track days and seeing a Ford GT, my mind was made up. I just had to wait a little longer and find a GT. I picked it up today and got to drive it all of 4 miles straight to Heffner's for a few upgrades:biggrin

Thanks for the help and I look forward to being in the family and learning more about the awesome car. Thanks for an awesome forum. I will join shortly.:thumbsup:thumbsup

Congrats, you selected the best color.
Register your car above and we will change your status to owner.
Welcome.

Congrates on you new toy!

The NSX is a nice car and in it's day it had adequate power, but compared to even a stock GT it is like a moped! Now after upgrades, an NSX would be like a tricycle in comparison.

Congrats and welcome !! :cheers

Congrats & welcome to our lil' asylum, Hydra! :thumbsup :cheers

All the best with your new gal

Tsk, tsk, guys, please don't pick on the NSX too much. It is a DAMN fine vehicle and keep in mind that it is relatively unchanged since its introduction <gulp> 18 years ago! (Shame on Honda for not evolving it!)

Some firsts for the NSX in 1991:
1. 90 HP / Liter
2. VTECH
3. All-aluminum construction
4. Titanium connecting rods
5. The best cable shifted car... and the benchmark for the GT Team (really)
6. 8,000 RPM redline
7. Front wheel 1" smaller than rear wheels... hmmmmm

If you've never driven one, you should. While down on HP (especially compared to our standards), the build quality was spectacular as is the superb handling.

Good little machine...

You tell um Kendall........

I don't disagree with anything that Kendal has said, but the bottom line is <300HP at about 3100-3200 lbs is a poor power to weight ratio by today's standards. However that was near the top when the NSX was 1st released.

I never meant to slander the NSX......I do love the NSX, but, the GT is just much more of an overall performance car with an incredible amount of torque.:thumbsup

You will find that there are lots of car enthusiasts here and an eclectic collection of them at times. I am amazed by the great variety of interests and knowledge of cars shared here, along with the love of the GT.

Welcome.

Hydra, Welcome. I believe there is a Florida gang too. And twelve good months a year to enjoy the car.:thumbsup

Congratulations and welcome. Many owners wished they had been warned to work into the power slowly and be careful of cold tires and/or cold pavement :cheers

Awesome purchase, enjoy the heck out of it!

Congrats and welcome to the GT family.

" 4 miles to an upgrade"! Gotta love it.:biggrin

Nice to see you out here Steve welcome to the Family !

Congratulations Hydra, and welcome to the best forum on the net.
