Dyno pull for an unmodified ZR1 came in at: 549.9 RWHP and 500 RWTQ!!

Stock car - Don't try it
Pulley & Tune - Driver's race
Whipple w/ 19 LB pulley - Small Grin
TT - Big Grin
SC/TT - I'm interested to know....

Of course tires, octane and tunes will be a factor in all of this. BUT, if the ZR1 boys modify like we do, THEN.......

Be Safe.

you forgot whipple/spray- medium grin

ps sc/tt bigger grin

the sc/tt will make all the power but it will still have the kick of just the sc which means if your going up against a car that make 549 rwhp you would instantly be ahead and continue to pull away, what im interested in seeing is the mods for this car and unltimately how easy or hard it will be to make consistant power out of it.

I'll configure my car in TT and then TTSC for you and you can tell me what you like better. I can switch back and forth, and for me the WOT hit from the twins alone leaves the rest in the dust. I have done a little bit of research on this :lol

Interesting....put the visual test to the two and we win by a walk off grand slam. :lol

No replacement for displacement. 7.0 vs. 5.4.

One note: I hear there is not that much left on the table for the ZR1. My cousin picked one up a couple weeks ago, similar results, actually about 10less rwhp.

After power, it boils down to gearing, PTW and traction, as odd as it sounds you should have the traction edge. Roll on's are another story.

What was the boost level? and AFR. Should be telling of what's left.

A couple of the vette tuners used to say the Mod motors power return per psi was higher that the LS6/LS7. Not sure if that holds true with this beast. Would be interesting to know.

I will definitely have the bigger grin just owning a Ford GT. I have 3 Corvettes so I can speak. Corvetes are a performance bargain. Exclusive
they are NOT. A ZR1 is just a glorified Corvette...nothing more...nothing less. I could honestly care less who can beat my GT. It will turn way more heads, appreciate faster, look better and drive better than most Corvettes new and old. To me NOTHING compares to a Ford GT. Outrun it, maybe. I will venture to say that the long legged blonde will get in the GT quicker than in a ZR1. The only thing that I might would like and priced way higher than a Ford GT is a Veyron....and that will never happen for me.

I will be interested to see the first twin turbo swap for the ZR-1's. As it has been said, my understanding is that the standard blower is pretty much at full capacity from the factory and there isn't enough room inside the valley for anything bigger. I would assume the next consideration would be twin turbo's.

I do agree with Prowler though that curb appeal and exclusivity belongs to the GT.

Well said.:thumbsup

A Corvette is just that a Corvette. It is nice just not exotic like our GT40s.

Pulley & Tune - Driver's race

Pulley and tune on my car gives me 650 RWHP & 600 RWTQ

Is the GT that much heavier?

The local Ford dealer has a ZO6 sitting amongst the rest of the used cars and has had it for awhile. I expect the ZR1 will be on the used lot soon too. "Just another vette" is a well worn phrase.

They are all guesses on my part. My guess with the new clutch and stickier tires, the ZR1 will have an edge.

Oops.....I forgot to mention.......Any of you fellow GT owners trading for a ZR1 please let me know where you trade so I can buy your GT wholesale. Then keep my number so a little over a year from now I can buy your ZR1 for about $70K. Thanks in advance. Chris

I believe its a 6.2

hp comparison

The ZR1 is 550rwhp stock on a dyno. Aren't most GTs around 530rwhp stock? Mine was.

Also the GT has tons of unlocked power while the ZR1 is close to maxed out. I think Prowler has the right idea.

can you tell us what dyno brand .i have seen as much as 39 horse on the same day same car 2 diferent brands

Went to my local Chevy dealer to talk to them about a ZR1. They were accepting sealed bids above MSRP. I would have been third in line for their allocation. I was just tire-kicking and curious. Went out and got a 2nd GT instead. It's not all HP and performance...the car has to look good too.

The dyno numbers seem right. Car is rated at about 636 HP at the crank. That converts to 550 or so with 14% driveline loss.
