Hi - so a few weeks ago i had my first post, saying i was "in the market" after stalking it for months and deciding on what to get. Well no sooner did I make that claim and then found the car I wanted (a white 4 option '06, one owner, relatively low miles).

The car was in IL and owned by a gentleman car collector who had a pretty interesting collection of other cars. Everything worked out with the inspection, but because of the auctions down in AZ at the same time, I'd have to wait a few weeks for it to be picked up. That's when I thought "hey, the GT Guys (Rich) arent too far from the car (300 miles)... maybe i'll use the wait time to get them to take care of it...".

So that's what I did, Rich picked up the car and now I am so happy to have some GT experts going over the car for some maintenance:
- changed all the fluids, gave everything the once over. It's a 2300 mile car
- installed the Heffner 700 kit (which the original owner had bought but could never get calendars to align to get it installed - he wanted the GT Guys to install it, irony!)
- installed a short shift kit
- installed an ipod cable
- replaced the battery (just because - I usually have bad luck with batteries when I buy gently used cars, and that thread on failing tachometers is making me paranoid for no reason)
- and... (drumroll please....) did the bumper delete, stock muffler but Rich had the modified tips installed to give it that flush finish.

The car was picked up last Friday by the transport company (Intercity), so now I wait and the wait is killing me!!

Hopefully I'll have it next week, but there are some winter storms rolling through the mid-west and have already caused a delay. To top it off, now it looks like the car will get here just as a storm system is rolling in for a few days of rain....argh!... but i'll be happy to just look at it in the garage, maybe...

Thanks again to the forum for all the research and tips. You can learn a lot if you take the time to read past posts. Also thanks to the GT Guys and a few other sponsors from whom i already have (e.g. Exoticare for hot buttons and the key fob), or will be buying (Kip) some more goodies in the future.

I'll post pics once it is here.

Congratulations on getting your car! Have fun and be safe.

Congrats TJ! Your parts are on the way!!
You will find that leaving a GT bone stock is not possible!!

:)

You may just as well set up a folding chair someplace near the GT right now, t.j., 'cause you WILL end up using it regularly regardless of the weather! :lol

BTW - CONGRATS!!! :thumbsup:thumbsup :cheers

Oooooooooh, yes 'tis! At least for summa us! :lol :cheers

Welcome to the brotherhood. Be careful on those Goodyears, they are slippery when it's cold (or just cool) outside. And please, please don't make her a garage queen... drive the hell out her, she will deliver pure unadulterated driving ecstasy.

Congrats to you and enjoy!

tj, glad you took the plunge and are now with us.

You will be rewarded beyond expectations!

You have already started off on the right foot with Rich and Dennis doing the introduction wrench turning on her to make sure she is good to go! Do take it easy with the right foot as Mark suggests with the Goodyears, they like to be warm and there is a whole lotta torque available to them with these still cool temps.

Hope to see you at an owners event soon!

Congrats. Great reading your story. Great idea to work with the GT guys. How convenient!

you might as well make an appointment to get it twin turboed. ;)

Nice going TJ. Congrats man.

A big Welcome to you Teej! :cheers
As Fubar said...drive the heck out of it, but BE CAREFUL learning about your gal's traction challenges on tires that are not warmed up sufficiently. There are way too many sad stories of anxious GT owners not being patient.
You will enjoy this like no other car, I promise. But that being said, what other cars are in your current or previous stable?
PS You will want to install a healthier sounding exhaust soon.....just wait and see.
