Texas Mile

Congrats to everyone making the GT the fastest car in the World.
And , of course our thoughts go out to the Camaros driver. We hope he is OK to race another day.

About 26lbs....the run was damn near perfect. With spray it would have run 235+ I think no problem.

Oh and the ice tank was 15gal filled with 5gal of water and 10gal of ice. The best info we got all weekend was on the cooling system. Even with the setup we had....it was still too hot by the end of the mile. If we can lower blower outlet temps another 40-50*....well that's probably another 100+hp on the big end. We have a plan.

congrats on the run! thats a hell of a fast sc car ;)

Late to the party here, just getting back into the routine and posting some pics and vids. As Steve said he posted a 203mph with his whipple which I have a video of. I posted a 193 in a car with pulley, tune, and exhaust. I was very happy :) Tried tape and tricks for 195 but it didnt help.

It was nice meeting Gary, Dolph, and my man Steve who gave me the longsleeve shirt off his back to make my first run. What a guy, I appreciate it.

Some info on the possible causes of the Camaro crash.

While still under investigation, it appears as though a suspension failure caused the front end to drop and cut the passenger side tire in half while at speed and accelerating. Joe was traveling at 198.8 mph at the half mile mark and the car began to face the wrong direction just after the 3/4 marker. There were 8-10 barrel rolls, two large truckloads of debris recovered from the field next to the runway and a front clip nearly 65 feet in the air...

Joe is fine. small lacerations, a torn ligament in his left knee, some bruising from his helmet and some damage to his right eye is all. This is a testament to the folks who built his roll cage, outfitted his car with safety gear and to the TX Mile folks for requiring and inspecting these items.

We do have very graphic video of the accident and are waiting until Joe is comfortable watching it before posting - so stay tuned if your the type who enjoys automotive carnage

Some good pictures here of the Mile participants. I feel bad posting this right after the Camaro crash bit from Clinton, but I suppose, it is the Texas Mile thread....http://revvolution.com/techarticles/id/162

Magic, is that your car with the number 4 'blued out'?
