Texas Mile

Congratulations Gary on your runs and speeds. Isn't it now great that you discovered that oil leak and replaced those axle bolts and didn't go to the Texas Mile and break down? Good timing and glad that it worked out.

:agree:

Spooky thought if the half-shafts came off at 180+ MPH! :ack

Magic, good going. I think you have now outdone StormKitty, not an easy task. Be watching for eyelashes to appear on your car.

Great Job, Gary, Steve, and everyone else at the event !!

As far as GT's that would be Magic (Gary), Dolph, Daytrader (Cavan), Mark H, Pizza Car and myself

For those that haven't met him, Pizza guy's name is Dom. And the big guy goes by 930shark on here.

Who's got the video crossing the mile marker?

I was at the end of the mile when they both made their best run on Saturday. Crap they were fast. Hey Mark why didn't you run on Sunday, you could have beat the bogus KSC run.

If anyone has video of our car I would love to see it.

We have some footage...
In car of the 230.7 run

That looked liked a perfect run :cheers that tank is HUGE!!! how much boost are your runnin?

About 26lbs....the run was damn near perfect. With spray it would have run 235+ I think no problem.

Oh and the ice tank was 15gal filled with 5gal of water and 10gal of ice. The best info we got all weekend was on the cooling system. Even with the setup we had....it was still too hot by the end of the mile. If we can lower blower outlet temps another 40-50*....well that's probably another 100+hp on the big end. We have a plan.

if you spray the nitrous through the blower you will get a synergystic effect and it will cool things down considerably :cool

Oh I know...it was a dry shot plumbed into the intake. Done it a million times on pd blower cars. That's why I was so disappointed when it didn't spray. I still need to control the downstream temps better. Really would like them under 120F.....140 MAX. The meth was helping but we weren't spraying a pile of it either. Just a nice compromise between cooling and power.

Spraying post intercooler will cool the air more. Also spraying pre-blower will displace some of the air that would have be pumped into the engine by the blower, Spraying after the blower will not to any great extent.

This^^^^however the packaging isn't always as simple.

Like you suggested for meth injection, for those running Whipples, spraying post blower pre-inter cooler using the base plate is a good tradeoff

The best would be port, but there isn't a lot of room to go from the outside and from the inside would make jet changes and maintenance a PITA.

congrats on the speed. You would get 1-3mph more with quicker shifts. :)

Yeah...this driver had never driven a mile before and never driven a gt with this kind of power. His main focus was maintaining grip and getting the car down the track. Mirrors were on, no tape, etc etc. There were probably a bunch of little things that could have netted a couple more mph but whatever.

How come you weren't there? After seeming you rock out at TX2K I thought you would have been there. Your setup seems pretty dialed in.
