Everytime my wifes car goes into our mechanic for work, it comes back with a new ding... but I always recognize it 1-2 days after the fact :frown he's a great, knowledgeable, inexpensive mechanic, but next time..... I tell ya..... next time I'll catch it :bored

Sadly what happened is not a surprise. However the Porsche owner's response to the accident is!

...“He’s a good guy,” she said. “It was just an unfortunate accident.” She said she’s still willing to bring her vehicles back to the station in the future. “I have no reason to think I wouldn’t,” she said. “It’s a well-respected place.”...

With logic like this it is no mystery why people vote the way they do. We are in big trouble! :ack

Alternatively it could be the opening of a diplomatic salvo that ensures a brand new Porsche Boxter is delivered to her. She's either deliberately, or accidentally, left a lot of wriggle room!

Porsche Boxster's top speed is only about 157 or so..... given that he lost control of the car means that he likely hit the brakes so based upon how they determine top speed in an accident investigation if they decided it was 163 that means we have a boxster that is capable of in excess of 185 which I find HIGHLY unlikely.

earlier in the post they stated a 100 mph which falls more in line with someone driving on an island (which Sanibel is) and being mad. Either that or she had a JATO rocket in the back hatch.

The tattletale "black box" would pbly provide that...if authorities there have the tech to retrieve it.

I can't believe this woman's 'take' on the situation. 'Clueless beyond belief.:frown

Steve....again we think alike. :bs The car wasn't as badly damaged as it should have been at 163mph. Most likey 100 or way LESS at impact.

Any thought that perhaps she had damaged the car, and is having her "mechanic" friend help her out of a ticklish situation?

Nope!

hmmm Did seagulls swoop down in front of him?

The owner had a 2008 Porsche Boxster serviced at a Shell Service Station... enough said.

No, it was some pelicans. :biggrin

My bad. :lol

"Kasten wasn’t seriously injured and fled the scene before emergency crews arrived, Corporal George Kantor said."

O.K., here's my 2 cents worth. 2008 Boxster being serviced at the Shell station. "Mechanic" takes it for a spin, rolls and wrecks it, and little lady owner is only concerned that he's o.k.? Driver/mechanic/car wrecker said he was angry about something. Was there someone/something other than the Porsche being "serviced" by the mechanic, and maybe things didn't work out?

Hey, djs - by any chance do you 'write' for "Desperate Housewives" (or whatever that show is called)? :rofl :cheers

Geez ,it was only a Boxster!

2 questions for 2 totally different scenarios.

1. I wonder if she owed more than the car was worth?

2. That is immaterial if this was a "full service" station.

German Toyota

Maybe the throttle stuck while he was test driving it!

Ed

PS Oh, yeh - at 6am! There is less traffic on the road then.

I thought only Toyotas do that. :lol
