Gentlemen,

Having only driven it 1700 miles in 3 years, mostly at night because of my ongoing battle with skin cancer, I have decided to sell my beautiful all aluminum 427/SC Kirkham Cobra. This is a rotten time to sell anything so it's priced right. Specs as follows.

1965 Cobra 427/SC
Kirkham 427/SC #KMP304 Built in 2005

KMP304 is listed in the SAAC World Registry of Cobras and GT40s, 4th Edition – page 860, photo on page 884, history & description on page 885.

ENGINE - Shelby American 427 Aluminum Block FE - # CSX460 built by Keith Craft Racing. Velasco billet crank stroked to 482 C.I., Keith Craft Racing Stage III ported heads, JE pistons, MSD 6AL ignition/coil & distributor, Lunati billet rods, Comp Cams hydraulic roller cam, plus 2 complete intake systems – 48 IDA Webber carbs mounted on a flow matched aluminum intake manifold (not installed), and Shelby American port matched aluminum intake with a 4150 Holly 750 CFM 4BBL mounted inside an aluminum Kirkham turkey pan (installed). Over 600 Dyno-ed horsepower!! When I purchased this Cobra it only had 160 miles on it and it was equipped with the Webber's. I could not bring myself to drive it without an air cleaner in our dry Arizona conditions (dust). So I removed the Webber's and installed the proper Holley carburetor on a Shelby American aluminum intake and this allowed me to utilize a K&N air filter.

RUNNING GEAR – David Kee built Ford wide ratio 4 speed toploader transmission, 8 ½ inch Quarter Master NASCAR clutch, Lakewood blowproof bellhousing, aluminum Heim-joint shift linkage, Aluminum Kirkham IRS differential.

CHASSIS – Kirkham 427/SC with every available upgrade. Roller assembled by Kirkham Motorsports. Polished stainless steel frame, Penske gas shocks with Hyperco springs, billet suspension, Trigo pin drive knockoffs w/ Goodyear billboard rain tires, Willwood big brake upgrade with cross drilled/vented rotors, radiator screen, aluminum jack hooks, aluminum hood scoop, black ceramic coated headers & sidepipes, polished stainless heat shields, billet gas tank straps, 42 gallon fuel cell, brake scoops, Halon system, show quality Kirkham aluminum body with brushed bare aluminum finish and polished stripes and roundels.

COCKPIT – All leather black interior with upgrade wool carpets, leather covered dash, Raydot mirror, Moto-Lita 15” steering wheel, Autometer gauges, Hurst shifter, 6 point drivers harness, polished stainless rollbar, dual dry cell batteries.

FINAL ASSEMBLY – Engine & transmission installation along with all final assembly, fitting, and tuning done by Drew Baird. Baldwin Design and Performance in Dallas, Texas (bdpmotorsports.com) has many photos of KMP304 on their company website. They are aluminum Cobra specialists and their work is the best of the best.

It would cost over $130,000 to build this Cobra. You cannot imagine how violently fast this car is until you ride in it. 2140 pounds and 650 horsepower make my Ford GT feel tame by comparison. I have just undergone my 5th skin cancer operation and I will not drive a convertible during the day anymore. This car has no top. Meticulously maintained, never been scratched, and absolutely flawless. KMP304 has only 1900 miles on it and has never been advertised for sale before. I will sell it to a Ford GT Forum member for $89,000. Send me a PM if your interested or have a question.

$89,000

Chip

That is stunning - quite beautiful.....

Awesome machine, striking, So they have smog laws in Arizona too??? TEXAS plates.

If this was last year or sometime in the hopefully better future I would snap this up in a heat beat..You have great taste and good insite for premium components.

Beautiful car ,Chip, and a very good price. I hope your skin cancers are behind you for good. IMO no "fast and beautiful" car collection is complete without a Cobra having been a part of it, and no go-fast car enthusiast is complete until experiencing what it's like to point the wheels straight and mash the accelerator on one of these 427+ beasts. :cheers

Chip,

The car is absolutely stunning.

I remember admiring your Cobra at our Rally III pre-rally party at your house.

Best of luck selling this beautiful car and I too hope the skin cancer issue is behind you.

Chip, that is one fine example of a cobra, im sorry you are selling it. I think you should keep it.:wink

Lovely ride. Probably the nicest Cobra I've seen. I wish, at 6'5, I would fit in her, without requiring a chiropractor's services.
Good luck.

That is a sweet, sweet, ride! I'm pretty sure it's the coolest cobra I've seen.

I had no idea about your condition Chip. Sam and I will take a moment and send good wishes your way.

Jake

That car is just plain sick...I have to stop looking :lol

Sorry to hear you are selling Chip, but good luck with the sale.

Chip, that is a beautiful Cobra, alot nicer than mine!!!! Have you considered having a top made? Mine leaks water a bunch, but does keep the interior a bunch cooler.

Kirkham does make a LeMans hardtop... just a thought.........

Beautiful car, but more importantly I hope your health issues are over. :cheers

Absolutely beautiful car Chip. Sorry that you have to sell it and whoever get's it is getting a heck of a deal.

Chip all the best on your road to recovery!!
