Official October 2010 Texas Mile thread

Team Fubar had 1 purpose this past weekend and that was to hit that magical number (for us) of 200 mph. With a true team effort that included an all out NIGHT run to burn off pumped fuel on Saturday night, we crushed our mark on Sunday morning with a run of 205.3. It was the best day i have in a long time and seeing the smile on my brothers face was truly "priceless". Although he could tell you exactly how much that smile costs!

That picture says it all, what a smile!
Those darn 200mph t shirts sure are expensive - (but somehow they seem worth it):thumbsup :cheers
Chip said it right - most expensive t-shirt he'd ever bought!:lol

after reading Apollo's paragraph above it puts a great smile on my face that a couple can jump into one car and run big numbers together......that's something special right there.

I thought it was great too........until I got back from Mojave and my wife let me know that she is ready to start driving. :ack Now I will have another person driving faster than me, but this time in my own car. :lol

Mullet, in watching those videos it look/sounds like you get out of the gas before you cross the 1 mile marker. It could be youtube video/audio mismatch but if it's accurate then I'll bet you could have swung a number closer to the one you were looking for.

Yeah, the audio (live) is really deceiving and actually works in reverse when you are standing at the start line. It really sounds like everyone is roaring well past the mile mark when, in reality, it is just taking the sound so long to come back that one mile distance.

Congrats on the 200+ run.

Deleted fuel pump stuff. I forgot you have a ungraded fuel system.

Great runs by the GT forum members !! Congrats to all.. :thumbsup

There was a red GT that was technically stock - (pulley and really tuned) - that was in the 190s. I think it was car 40 Lee Novikoff?

My best was a 189.9 last weekend. Best in the car has been a 196, but I could not match it this week. I tried the Accufab monoblade this trip out and it was a total bust. Car ran slower and kept idling really high (like 4000rpm) after every run. I put the stock TB back on and picked up 3mph.

I just want to say thanks to Matt for asking me to come down to the mile with him. I had a blast. Being the left rear tire changer, I hope I didn't cause the clutch problems :)
It was nice to meet Apollo (Terry) and his lovely wife Monica. I was another one of her fans. It was great to see her run 200+.
Mullet, what can I say. Anyone that'll run his wife's Bentley in the mile is my kind of guy.

I look forward to The Mile next year, and helping Matt get that 200mph t-shirt.

David

The signage on the windows is a little dated, thus not completely accurate. However the part about a smoking ride is still correct :)

Don't you love the way the intercooler plumbing exits the rear fascia!

Sam nails it!!!!

What the Hell Is That? Back to the Future?

An astute observation Sam. After failing to best Ray's Texas Mile Ford GT speed, Performance Power is switching brands for the next mile event. Their new entry has the same level of rear end beauty.

Compare their old Ford GT with the spy shot I obtained of their new miler.

Chip

This is the only rear end beauty I saw next the PP FGT.

That's the Detroit Special Edition. I always see cars with all kinds of plumbing coming out of body week, windows made of garbage bags, holes cut in various panels. Doing it up hood style.

Based on this BlackICE's picture, I was gonna quote Chip's quote with a few 'minor' word re-arrangements. But I just KNOW I'd get a short holiday if I did, so I'll just leave it to your imaginations. I'm sure you'll figure it out...... :lol

Yeah, I was hoping for some pics of her sun bathing on top of their trailer. But this will do.

This one was the party girl in the pits next to us. All trouble.
