Not sure if I'm doing the right thing.

Yeah, I promised myself that I would leave her factory stock. I may break that promise...

After meeting the GT guys and seeing some nice mods I have decided to do the following:

Ford performance Trans cooler
Ford performance exhaust
Heffner tune
T&A lowering kit
Accufab half shaft bolt kit

Should I leave it unadulterated factory stock for value purposes (this question is still bugging me) or go for the mods? Will the mods affect value????

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

You need to do the pulley !!! All of this stuff is bolt on and can be taken off if need be. The trans cooler will add life the the Trans axel and it's a Ford part so that's a plus.. Enjoy the car a don't worry about it !!!

+1

Evan, It was nice to meet you,

Enjoy the car now !

Decide later .......... Don't worry about the value.

Hey, you haven't seen Kip's CF Stuff ............. WOW !!!!! :thumbsup

Bumper delete.:thumbsup

Agreed; enjoy your gal rather than simply keeping her until the next owner (if one comes into play) has the opportunity to do so.

Takes care

I would definitely go for the mods....

but people think I am weird :biggrin

Yeah that's contingent on the term weird equal to 'right on track !'

:cheers

Definately do ALL the mods! Future Value? What is that? How about Present Value and Enjoyment! There are no guarantees in life and for sure there is not a guarantee you will even be here in the future so go get those mods and drive it and enjoy it. JMO:biggrin

You should not worry about the value.

If you bought the GT only for investment reasons and have her still in stickers wrapped up with no miles then yes stock is good.:bored

If you bought her to enjoy and yet still hope she will be of value when you no longer can climb in and out and a nice assisted living place is your destiny...then mod her to your liking and she will still retain a very good value.:banana

And then as many will say drive her like you stole it and enjoy her ever minute knowing you are having fun with the best and looking the best.:thumbsup

These mods are the bare minimum - not meaning that they are just beginning. Meaning, the car absolutely loves to have these mods done, and should be delivered this way. Still retains driveability and quality. Just adds a lot more fun. And the GT Guys are the ones to do it.

Enjoy. You will not regret it. Can be returned to stock also. The accufab bolt kit is probably considered a plus as well as prudent mod.

If you have a STRONG concern about mods effecting future value, just do whatever mods are easily removeable ... 'keep ALL the stock parts and fasteners "labeled" and in proper wrapings ... and you can return to "stock" in a weekend.

No problemo...

Thanks guys!

Believe it or not, the mod I like the best is the lowering kit. It just gives the car the look it was meant to have.

Looks like the mods are on!:thumbsup

Evan,....go for it.
4038 cars where made.... How many wide hip CSX cars?

pulley the trigger...you'll be happy you did

Agree with them all. Go for it. The car was bought to enjoy, not to invest (if investment, pull the money and put it in real estate).

Any potential dollar you loose in resale value is offset by an equal dollar of fun. So you lose 5K in resale? You couldn't buy the same amount of fun for 5K. Like I posted before, it is just the cost of admisson.

No loss possible no matter what.

P.S. Also agree - you need to do the pulley - money well spent.

Do the mods at your own pace. I started with simple detail mods ... graphics, tire paint and other finishing touches to Camillo's already awesome design before I moved into trans cooler and exhaust. Now I have harness's in the car, and am looking into suspension and power mods. Don't know if I am going to do the pulley that everyone has mentioned or a change in the forced induction ... TT or whipple.

Most of all enjoy your GT .. do everything at a pace that your comfortable with that way you won't find yourself in a spot where you have regret... that also includes learning where your limits are in driving the car. Thats why I left the power mods for last. Getting use to a 550 hp mid engined supercar before you add another 100 - 500 hp is probably something that you would not regret if you really intend to drive the car at 7-10/10ths .... which most GT's don't see very often. Or if your pockets GT ... rarely the sight of day... but then again he has a nice home for her to be displayed in. :biggrin

Most of all drive her and enjoy her ... you only life once! and your already living a dream of many people just to have one in the garage.

Y-a-w-n ...:bored

Don't pick on Pockets...Pockets and I actually think alike. Thats why my plate says "WAXER". :lol

I know the mods will make her run better and with the T&A lowering kit it will look even faster when I look at her! But I agree with Pockets. These cars are fine wines to be savored and enjoyed. Not 7-11 big gulps. :lol (I liked that line!) so I will probably ration my mileage like water in the desert. Its the catch 22 of not wanting to run up the mileage and wanting to drive her or like trying to have your cake and eat it too.

Guys...thanks for the input!:thumbsup
