New Matech GT's to the stable (pic inside)

Damn! No double Damn!!

Thank you Greg and Lance. Congratulations on your mind boggling acquisition.

See you and the cars at the Rally.

Wow.

Look forward to driving one.

Awesome! We will be there

Indeed, they will be at the Carlisle Ford Nationals held in Carlisle, PA - June 6-8! Come on out and see these bad boys...

Wow lance that's Incredible. I want a ride!

Thanks all! Greg, Steven and I are all really excited about it. We realize the true history and passion behind these amazing cars. I've had my sights set on one of these cars for a LONG time - just ask DBK! LOL, I've been nagging him for years about a Matech Ford GT. I'm still pinching myself! Once the cars arrive stateside, I'll be sure to post a few pics for everyone to enjoy... isn't that what it's all about?!

Life is good,

Lance

I am definitely in for a ride. The Rally each year is a high point, but this year's looks to be fantastic. Thanks to all who are making it possible to have the LeMans cars present.

Just a note from me, as it's important to say a few thank you's of my own. Obviously, to Greg and Lance for coming up with the deal, and well done to Mr Dave Bannister for introducing them to me. On the technical side, many of you know Sascha from Matech, on these forums - I can only say what you already know that his advice and knowledge of all things Ford GT is second to none, and his wisdom early on in this process has been extremely helpful in making this run as smoothly as it has. To Thomas Mutsch for providing his driving services for an independent shakedown of all four cars...there's no one better as he helped design them in the first place.

On to MarcVDS Racing...you will see for yourselves when you are next to the cars their level of care and meticulous attention to detail in getting the cars prepared and restored back to the Le Mans configurations. You'll love the Le Mans green position lights! In particular, thanks to 1st mechanic Steve as he did the bulk of the work on all four cars, and getting them to the state of perfection they are now in, which when you consider they had 2 years of very, very hard racing, they are in exceptional condition.

Lastly, thanks to the team at Marc VDS Racing, especially to Alex, Bas and Mr Marc VDS himself for making the whole process so straight forward. There was a huge amount of behind the scenes work going on, and thanks to their own exacting standards, and by seeing how they run their race team and workshop, it was easy for me to convince Lance and Greg to push ahead with the deal, having not seen the cars, the workshop, or met the owners.

It's been several months of very, very intensive work, and now the end is in sight, as the cars are now on a boat heading to their new homes.
Thank you to everyone who has helped with this project, and been part of the success.
Steven

How many folks are planning on driving their Ford GT/GT40's to the event?

Didn't see the other thread started..............sorry.

Holy mackerel, when I opened this thread, I thought that I was going to see a wonderful but somewhat usual FGT. This ain't that at all...what an incredible addition to this side of the pond. Awesome.

Thank you Greg and Lance !! :thumbsup Thanks Steven for all your contributions to the GT program and documentation. Looking forward to see the cars at the rally !! :banana:banana

What a bombshell of a story!

Congratulations Lance and Greg. Certainly in the " Deal of a lifetime " category. Did you get the semi while you were at it?

The pictures are phenomenal! Will see them for certain in Vegas (If there is any way possible to get a ride, I would forever be in your debt ). I am going to see if I can fit a day trip to Carlisle to get a jump on seeing these beauties.

I have loved seeing one of these cars before, at Rally V and the event in Detroit. The ideas, the execution and the people are all amazing! The pictures are amazing. Kind of reminiscent of a group shot of the Shelby, Holman Moody, or Gulf teams from the '60s.

My head is still spinning over the remarkable stateside acquisition of this stable of cars. Congratulations again guys!

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!

Lance and team CONGRATS!!!!!! great buy.

No Semi... but the Semi's were awfully cool! I can't even imagine the cost to get one of these sent overseas... LOL

Indeed this was a "deal of a lifetime" - Greg and I are both extremely excited, seriously still pinching myself. I'm like a little boy on Xmas morning!

Life IS good,

Lance

Sent it to a bunch of friends at FMC and everyone (predictably) loves it.

Edsel II said the cars "look spectacular!" I agree! :cheers

Lance, wonderful purchase, you love the racing aspect of these cars......ALL THE BEST. DBK probably had a lot to do with making the dream come true. Good Job.

Funny, how things come full circle! Joey, you probably recall my asking about the Matech cars a long time ago. You put me in touch with Dave... Dave stayed in touch regarding the cars. The cars came up for sale and Dave put me in touch with Steven and the rest is history. I'm thankful to each of you! Seriously, I'm still in awe!

Life doesn't get much better than this!

Cheers,

Lance

Return from Le Mans.

Lance,

After a great time with those cars at Le Mans I was afraid that #60 would be destroyed in a race later in the season and lost. I hoped it would be retired and preserved for posterity. I'm happy all 4 cars survived and are in your hands. Several pieces of #60 and #61 that were on it during the Le Mans race are sitting on my desk as I type this. :thumbsup Congratulations on a very historic acquisition. Well done bro!!!!! :cheers

Congrats on what has to be the ultimate GT purchase.

I love them - always will. :thumbsup

Congratulations, Lance & Greg.

Have you considered bringing Thomas Mutch to the Las Vegas Rally 9 - to show everyone what the cars can really do? Would love to see him again.
