I went out to the Texas mile to see what my 996 TT was capable of .This car was custom built by Evolution Motorsports in AZ and is a true street car.It weighs in at 3208 without driver and was run in full street trim(no removing mirrors, wipers ,or seats. It also has working a/c, radio, and full interior. The car was run at 28lbs of boost which is about 4 lbs of boost short of being maxed out because the car is a handfull to drive at those power levels on street tires. It has 4 or 5 mph more in her but we lost a front belly pan on the first run on friday so we had to remove the rest of the belly pans and white knuckle drive it for the next two passes on Saturday without any belly pans.It went 231.4mph on Sat making it the fastest Porsche in the world to ever compete in such an event. If we had belly pans and the stones to up the boost, well ,you get the picture:biggrin .Here are some pics from the event.Joe

I loved watching that thing run each time. AWESOME speed.

I would be happy to drive it at full boost in October. :cool

Wicked Joe. Congrats. I saw your threads on TS and 6spd. I was out with a buddy this weekend (howie "168" with the GT700 kit from EVOMS) and we were talking about your car which was at EVOMS when he was getting some stuff done and the wild times you ran in Tx.

Congrats. :cheers Is it safe to say that your's is the fastest "street" 996 out there? :thumbsup

That's amazing. Congratulations. That's very, very fast for a modern Porsche, or anything for that matter.

Awesome good job man !

WOW ! Great speed and no belly pans.. What tires are you running ?

Thanks Superfly,Torrie and Dave ,this would make it the fastest Porsche in the standing mile bar none, and also the fastest to 0-300kph at 15.9 sec as per the performance box.On the last pass it went 60-130 in 4.8 sec with two .8 sec shifts:ack(i guess i was taking it easy on her)
