Looking this weekend any advice update

I've been lurking for several years and now is the time to jump in. I'm looking at 2 this weekend with intent to purchase. Any advice for a newbie?

Thanks for all the advise and info. Think I will be an owner on Monday.

Depending on where you are, and where you're looking, get one of the "experts" (there are many on here) to do a PPI, whether it's GTG or someone else, don't do this on your own. Either that or call Shelby, he's the source for top quality, satisfaction guaranteed GT's!

Be very, very careful on purchasing without a PPI.

+1 on the PPI ! For example:

Let folks here know where you are or where you're looking and you'll certainly find support and references here on the forum.

It will be one of the most memorable experiences of ur life. PPI is one insurance policy u can not afford not to buy.

soryy to be dense but what is PPI insurance?

Pre Purchase Inspection by an independent QUALIFIED expert on the make and model of the car in question.

The GTGuy would be a good example.

Because of the location, 'suggest you call the GT Guy and fly him to N.H. to look at the car. GT Guys are in the Mich. area. :thumbsup :cheers

Careful on the test drives.

I live in MA. if I can be of help.

Just buy from Shelby - you won't need a PPI if you go that route. He absolutely delivers what he says or better. I bought mine from him in March sight unseen - and never looked back. Car was exactly as he described to the "T".

Be ready to walk away. Only buy exactly what you want. I have never passed on a car and not found one that I did not like as much or better. These cars are so awesome it is easy to get swept away. Keep your head.

All the other advice is sound as well, particularly the PPI if you are not buying from known reputable GT dealer. I would throw in that Marv from FordGTForSale.com has been enormously helpful to me with an insurance issue and I just bought a GT from him recently. Most postive experience I have ever had with a dealer. :thumbsup:thumbsup

Tell me which car and I will gladly tell you if I have any info on it....

I'm from ga too. Purchased in December using PPI. car was in South Bend. I was pleased but definitely find someone that knows the car.

Here's one that apparently does its 0-60 in only 2.9 seconds. I'd buy that one, since it's obviously that only on that can - and make sure the seller guarantees that it'll do it in only 2.9.:frown

hennessey gt700 specs are 0-60 mph in 2.9 sec. check their website at

Love to see it actually do that - at 710 BHP. I have only seen AWD GTR's get there...don't even know how you'd hook the GT to get to 2.9. Anyone here seen that on their GT?

^^^ Mullet, same setup pre-hair dryers. Actually better than 2.9...
