Hi guys my name is soroush and ive been reading the forum(with envy) for about a year or so and looking for a blk(no stripe) car since then. My search brought me close on two occasions but the cars were bought by other people. I was becoming very desperate and started to think i would never find the right car at the right price. About a week and half ago I was in touch with one of the forum members (kayvan), and he sent me a list of all the blk cars sold to dealerships last year and advised me to call and check, may be worth a try. So with reluctance i started to go down the list and called all the ford dealers, it was the same thing over and over, "that car is long gone". until i came to the bottom of the list and just as i was starting to give up i called a dealer in Washington and low and behold the saleman that answerd the call told me they had a blk car in the showroom but was not for sale and in fact belongs to the owner of the dealership. So i pushed him to ask the owner if he would sell his car. The sales person was not eager at all but he did ask the owner, and the answer was yes, yes, to my surprise. We struk a deal and i bought the car and finally after a week it got here (to houston). Let me tell you it has been the worst week and it has been the best week at the same time. I cant describe how i felt when i laid eyes on the car for the first time. I had never seen a blk no stripe car in person only in photos. Its everything and more. When i was growing up every kid had a poster of a lamborghini or a ferrari in their room, i was no different. I love cars and i remember the feeling that i had when i looked at that poster of my countach and daydream about the time when i would drive my own, but something happened. As I grew up and when I was in a position to buy my own lambo or ferrari, all of the sudden i really didnt want one like I remember wanting one when i was 15 and looked upon that poster. So i thought well this is what growing up must be like, you lose passion for those things that were so important to you when you were a kid. Oh how wrong I was. When I saw my car today let me tell you I felt like that little kid in his room looking at that poster except the poster is real and im not 15 anymore. This GT made me feel like a kid again, a kid with passion like i hadnt experienced for about 10 years. Anyway I want to thank kayvan; and i believe there is one more member that originaly sent the list to kayvan from the bottom of my heart i thank both of them. Kayvan you know dinner is on me when your in houston, and for all other houston GT owner when are we going out? my thanks also goes out to the forum and everyone involved in it, if it wasnt for the forum i would have probobly never found my car. you guys are great.:thumbsup

here is a few pics

Congrats, soroush! Welcome to the Club and enjoy.

Great story !. I know the feeling, it seams like it comes back everytime you step into the garage.:biggrin

Be prepared for all the attention everywhere you go. You will have celebrity status at the gas pump and just about everywhere you go. People will wonder which old Rock Star you are. :cool.....Get a custom plate that says Black Dog and they will think you were with Led Zepplin.:lol

Ferrari / Lambo owners will hate you when your cars are together. You will get all the attention. :rofl

Keep a napkin in the pouch behind the seat just in case the drool from a fan is in danger of getting on your car. :eek

Enjoy, be safe and learn the cars limits slowly. We need to keep these babies preserved. The sense of speed is just not the same as you got in previous cars. It is very very very deceptive. 150 in this car feels like 90 mph in a C5Z06.

Very nice

I have no doubt that your expectations will be exceeded

Takes care

Wonderful story, wonderful looking car. Looks like a panther (not a Pantera). I love it. Very aggressive and mean.

Congratulations.

PS
I am looking to install a lift like the one you have in your garage. What are the minimum height and width requirements? Thanks

Welcome to the Club. I changed you to the owners group. Enjoy a great ride.

Sweet lookin combo! Congratulations :cheers

Soroush -

Congratulations! Persistence pays! Great story - it's really nice to get some of that old passion from your youth back, isn't it? You'll feel like a kid again every time you fire her up for months to come.

Enjoy the ride. Take your time getting to know her.

regards,

Jeff

Wecome to the group - you will enjoy the car and the experience.

I have a bendpak HD-9. Ceiling is 9'6". Plenty of room for a GT and C2 Corvette underneath. You need to check how low your door comes - mine (when open) goes over the back of the GT.

Congratulations. Great looking FGT :thumbsup

Congrats on your purchase along with your story. Check other post as others in the Houston area are trying to come up with a gathering point to meet. Tomy Hamon Texas City, Texas

Congrats Soroush!

Happy I could be part of the dream.

Thanks also to Quickdraw, whose excellent data made this happen; and of course my brilliant help:wink

Life is a numbers game. I cant tell you the # of times I have made that extra call, sent the extra letter, proposal, resume or paid the extra visit....and thats made all the difference.

Thank you all for the warm welcome I Ifeel like Im part of the group already. I look forward to meeting all of you during the different events.

Cobrar1339: to your reply I dont think anyone would mistake me for an old rock star:lol Im 34 years old and people say I look younger than my age, maybe I can go for a computer nerd or trust-fund kid.:biggrin

911teo: my four post lift is 105 inches wide and 7 feet high at each post. In order to figure out how much space you need, well the width is 105in thats easy, but the height realy depends on what two cars you will be storing. you need to measure the height of both cars and add roughly 10 inches to be on the safe side. This total number should be the height requirment of your garage. my garage is 9 feet and i can barely fit my mustang and porsche in there, its very close, with the GT i have all sorts of room. I can send you a pic if you like.

Welcome.. The all black cars are just so sinister looking !! :thumbsup
