Uh-oh!!! Stand by for a FLAME JOB

:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad:mad

:poof: feel better now.......

The only investment a car is ,is your enjoyment!!!!
As I have said b4
I am a firm believer in driving your gal!
We all know of the guy who passes away and has some classic in his garage. His wife than sells it for half of what its worth!Mostly because she always hated how much he loved his cars !I am not saving my cars or my wife for the next guy !!!My stuff will all be well used !!
Having a GT not driving IT. Is like having a wife /girlfriend and not having sex with her !!
The person who has the most mileage the day b4 he passes wins!!!

Ferrari, two words:

"Not Gorgeous"

The Ferrari chat forum nuke me when i bring this up; that is when they are not spinning their "dont drive" weird auto-celibacy cult.

The F cars are just not gorgeous. Last good looking one was 308 period.

CEO Montelezzameo can go on about winglets, aero, purity.....ugly is not skin deep....its bone deep, and forever.

Its like some dude telling me his Fiancee is related to daughters of American revolution, Phi Beta Kappa, trailer hitch suction, etc

....if she aint hot I aint sold; fine for you......just dont bring it into comparison with mine and expect me to lie.

In the last 3 years I have had an M5, XLR-V, 4 Vipers etc. I am about as well versed in depreciation as you can get (though I still keep buying $100K Vipers that become $80K Vipers on the way home from the dealership--an illness) If I had bought the 007 Aston Martin a couple of months ago, it would be worth $100K now.

Chip is spot on. I would also add the GT is one car all my Vette and Viper buddies love--they bitch at each other constantly, but are reverential about the GT.

+1 Well, the 308/288 and the 512BB.

I understand they have never performed better, I just don't lust for them they way I once did. And the thing about Ferrari theme parks and underwear; :confused

The Italia 458 impacted the price of the F430 Scuderia.....no different than what the 2011 Porsche Turbo 911 S did to the pre-2010 ones...............remember when ZR-1s were topping 150 thousand.....as long as the models are refined and continued prices will tank on the previous model years.

512BB is hot; on my list; as well as 308QV ....for Magnum

288 is epic; though in $250K+ land

How about 3' of snow and ice? How about - the law here says you need snow tires from 12/15-3/15? Ain't no snow tires for this thing AFAIK...and I don't happen to have a snow plow or an AWD FGT...besides which, salt and aluminum don't go well together, and we've got millions of pounds of salt on the roads here now...

How about - this is what I drive for winter fun -- 525 HP modded Duramax with over 1000 LBS of RWTQ and a measured 0-60 of 5.3 seconds!
I rest my case now. The GT will have to wait a bit longer - :(

A bunch of us here have the Silverado/Diesel modified by Kendall. They are beasts....

Are you referring to a modified tune which increases the boost? I have read they do wonders for the power and torque output, but you have to watch the exhaust gas temperature under sustained high power use or risk damage.

We removed all the mufflers, particulate cooker etc and installed a straight 6" pipe. The Tune Kendall put in is on setting 1 out of 4 available. The Transmission is the weak link above 1000Hp. Even with the mildest tune, I can take many cars out of the hole, just by power braking to 1200 RPMs (Boost is on) and then flooring it. When driven mildly, the truck gets 20 Mpgs. The other mod we did was to put in a larger fuel tank that now gets me close to 700 miles. I can got Los Angeles to Las Vegas and back on a single tank.

I like the styling of the 308 GTB (the hardtop) and the early 70's Dino as well. Neither is as pretty as the Ford GT and I don't fit in either. I took a 308 GTB in trade once and drove it for a couple weeks. Two things stood out. I'm only 5' 11" and my head hit the roof requiring me to drive slouching tword the center console and 2.....it wasn't very quick.

The more advanced setups have EGT sensors connected to the inline add-on tuners, which monitor EGT's and when called for, push the power levels back to stock trim. The tranny's aren't even good for more than 550 RWHP without a proper rebuild, but a solid 550 RWHP would give you almost 1000 RWTQ, which as was said here, will blow away many cars in a straight line. In any case, you aren't going to blast one of these all day long. They're good for huge power in short spurts...much like nitrous shots.
