Jaguar flew me to Montreal to spend the weekend at the Formula E races. It was a great time, had a tour of the pits and garages and was able to spend a fair amount of time with the team and learned a lot ablout the cars and race.
I have included some pictures.

A special thank you to Jaguar Calgary and Jaguar Canada who provided a first class weekend and a lifetime of memories.

The sound of the cars always reminds me of some Wile Coyote contraption:

Been watching these races on Sunday mornings. Very cool the way the teams are set up and managed. They don't pit stop for fuel they pit stop for a fully charged car.

Starting in year 5 they will no longer have to switch cars, Battery life is now available to go the 35 laps.

Gentlemen,

Perhaps this is the future of motorsport, but if it is, count me out. These are the worlds fastest golf carts. The visceral nature of motorsport is greatly diminished here. The sounds, smells, and even the feel of an internal combustion race car is all lost. This is the WNBA of racing. I'll pass.

I will never forget the feel of compression in my chest from the shockwave of a V8 Formula 1 car heating its tires. Sounded and felt like War of the Worlds.

The racing seems to actually be close and entertaining in Formula E, but I can't help but chuckle when I see them running around. Still, cool experience to get to hang out with the team!

Exactly. IC engines in such a high state of tune are almost violent in their operation. They literally assault all of the spectators senses and that is where the magic lies. Imagine a 4 second Funny Car with an electric motor replacing the bone marrow shattering Keith Black nitro burner. Would the stands be full? I doubt it.
