Ford's Great Public Relations

We're all hypocrites, and I'll gladly claim top prize in the hypocrite race. :willy

Actually, we're all pretty much forced into being hypocrites when it comes to buying cars or anything else. (Name a U.S. MADE T.V. for instance. And, look at the "Made in Tiwan" label on Harley-Davidson accessories.)
But, when it comes to cars, we couldn't buy a 100% American made unit to save our souls. Parts for ANY U.S. car come from all over the globe ...and even the assembly of some "domestic" cars is done outside the U.S. So, there's no avoiding hypocrisy.
(For that matter, we're all hypocrites for buying our U.K. trannied, supercharged & suspensioned, German brake & wheeled, GT's!:lol But, by golly, their CHASSIS is American made ...I think ...if the aluminum is domestic...:confused :shrug )

I'm pretty sure the Heritage paint is American, heck is says Heritage in the name. But all the other colors are mixed in China by child labor :lol :bs

I think Phillips and Zenith are American, or is that just what they WANT us to think?

Devils Advocate!!! I'm one for sure... As much as I may agree with someone or something... I will always look at it from a different point or perspective.

Atomic, you don't have to be impressed enough to buy, that's not the point.

The point is that so many are complaining about cars from Japan stealing American Sales. One Ferarri = 7-8 Toyota's. could just donate that money directly to Ford :rofl

Tim, you don't need to understand, I'll translate.:wink

He is not impressed enought with Japaneezzz cars to buy one.

Me either, but that was not my point!:cheers

Besides Italian and Spanish, I also speak Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Russian. Still learning computer.:ack

It Is A World Economy

There is no longer any mass produced consumer TV's manufactured in the US.

Phillips & Zenith are assembled in "North" America [Mexico] as are many others, not in America [USA].

I agree that it is now a truly "Global" economy, and will never go back to the provincialism of the past, just too much at stake.

I actually manufacture items that we ship to Mexico, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Hungary, Ireland, and other locations for assembly in so called American products. Manufacturing companies must adapt or die.

My first car was a Ford & the last one purchased is a Ford. I have owned many types of both European and Asian cars. I make no apologies for purchasing what suits my needs, requirements, and desires at that particular moment in time.

Buying, selling, manufacturing, trading, working, investing, lending, financing, etc. in the this total world economy is a matter of fact.

Ford is “World Class” automobile manufacture and thus requires, let alone deserves, a “World Class” CEO. You get what you pay for. As the saying goes, “You will never know what it’s like until you have walked in his shoes”. The “driver” is the achievement of success; the “reward” is the compensation received.

God Bless America

Buying American - Easier than You think!!

Every week there is yet another article/discussion about which nameplates are/aren't American. It's really easy, there's only two: Ford & GM. Turn off all of the 'white noise' about rationalizing how American the "New Domestics" are: e.g. job/factory creation & local/domestic vehicle content. It's all about where the real profits goes (ex-patriated from US).

I was reminded of this again today, visiting to a local museum funded in large part by the Ford family. Current Toyota market cap is approx. $200B -- are they investing back into the community at the same level?

I can't afford to work for Ford at $1, but Rock on A. Mulally, we need 'ya! :thumbsup

FYI Zenith is part of LG (S. Korea) and Philips is Dutch.

SuperB would have to learn a couple more languages to work at the drive through around here; Ebonics and Haitian Creole are a must.

Brian is my hero, lets all chip in and get him a kevlar vest before he takes that detour in his career. Dangerous work manning that drive through.:lol

Ferraris succhia quello grande!

Born and raised in Italy! No Ferraris in my garage.... oopppsss

You boys are about to get a dose of pig latin F-bombs if you don't knock it off.:bored :lol
