Look at your dyno sheet and find your highest TQ reading this will give you the RPM to launch the car, now at a drag strip with road race gears you must understand the clutch is a disposable fusable link so slipping the clutch so as not to spin the tires is the secret. The TQ will power you out once full traction is acheived and carry you to second gear with out the bog.:banana

Watch video of GT's launching, most just roll out normal or bog then hit the gas (safe but not fast).::wink

Now if a saving the clutch is a concern then just have fun and get drop the hammer and clutch and try to feather the throttle. With a bunch of street cars Indy's launch and stage area will be very dirty but fun.:thumbsup

Oh you are so correct. Thats why I gave two senarios or maybe use a blend of the two. After 40 years of making 4 speeds compete I can only say the clutch industry loved me. I think a few of them went belly up when I retired frorm the 1/4 mile.
