More than a Rally, A Reunion

In August of 2006, owners of the Ford GT came from across the globe to Dearborn Michigan to witness first hand the production of their mid-engined supercars. It would be the one and only opportunity to tour the Wixom and Saleen Special Vehicle facilities where their cars were born. In addition to watching these great vehicles be assembled, there was the opportunity to spend 4 great days mingling with fellow owners as well as the wonderful team from Ford that came together to make history happen with the GT. Although Wixom is now gone and SSV builds other vehicles, enthusiasm for the GT remains!

Join us for 4 days in August 2007 as the Ford GT National Rally II descends on Southern California. The Fairmont Newport Beach (minutes from John Wayne Airport, the California coast, Saleen and Premier Automotive Group) will play host to not only GT owners, but once again key members of the GT Team that engineered, designed and produced these cars. Camilo Pardo, Jamal Hameedi, Tom Reichenbach, Rich Robeck, "The GT Guys" Rich Brooks and Dennis Breitenbach and many others...More than just a Rally, Ford GT National Rally is a reunion of a community unlike any other in the supercar world.

The Schedule of events includes:

Wednesday August 1st
Enjoy a welcome cocktail party at the Fairmont Newport Beach with GT owners from around the country. For all who love great swag, in addition to other items, attendees will receive a high-quality Camilo Pardo lithograph of a one-off original commissioned for National Rally II attendees only. Item can be shipped for those who do not wish to take it with them.

Thursday August 2nd
Nobody knows the Ford GT better than the good folks at Saleen, and what better place to have routine maintenance or touch ups done?

Just beyond the fence of Saleen Headquarters rests the now idle El Toro Field. Home to more than 8 million square feet of former airport runway, El Toro is nationally known amongst magazines and auto clubs like the PCA as the ideal location for everything from straight line acceleration tests, auto cross, and driving dynamics lessons. The Saleen School of Speed will play host to Ford GT owners at El Toro Field. A great opportunity to exercise your GT safely!

Friday August 3rd

The Rally! Take your GT and let it do what it does best! Enjoy your GT as you tackle some of the most challenging and exciting roads in the U.S. Amongst the beautiful scenery of Southern California, enjoy sweeping turns, hairpins, dramatic elevation changes and more. Full route will be available for the most adventurous with smaller scale route available as well.

All paths will lead to Los Angeles’ Petersen Automotive Museum for tours and a dinner and cocktail party. Take a tour to see over 300,000 square feet dedicated to the interpretive study of the automobile and its influence on our culture and lives. Attendees will again get a chance to meet and greet with members of the GT team during an evening dinner and listen to guest speakers tell the story of the GT.

Saturday August 4th
Every Saturday morning a triple digit number of exotics, muscle cars, and all manner of other automotive mania descend on Ford’s Premier Automotive Group facility in Irvine for Cars and Coffee. Each week, a featured marque gets put on display for enthusiasts of all kinds to enjoy. Think a couple hundred Ford GT’s would fit the bill? We'll be there to represent the GT for all to see in this Ford sponsored event. This will be the largest gathering of Ford GT's in their history, outdoing the some 85 we had in 2006. Get a chance to get up close and personal with Ford products like the GT500, GT500KR, and Super Duty for towing your GT.

In the evening, attendees will make the short journey to Newport Bay where they will board a spectacular luxury 400-person yacht for a 4-hour cruise and dinner. Relax and enjoy the journey amongst fellow GT owners and team members along the beautiful California coast. Great scenery, great food, and great friends to end a week of GT-filled action.

Event registration is $520 U.S per person.

Please note! Spaces are limited due to venue size. No registrations will be accepted after June 15th, 2007, or after maximum number of registrants is met. To attend events you must be a registered participant with proper event credentials.

When you have sent your registration, please book your hotel room after 5pm on Monday April 2nd, at the Fairmont Newport Beach at: 949-476-2001. The groups rooms have been blocked under The Ford GT National Rally at a group rate of $199 per night. Regular room rates of $369 per night will apply if not referenced! Larger rooms, suites and rooms at the Fairmont Gold "hotel within a hotel" are available at higher rates.

Seeing that II on this board reminded me of the GT-40 MK II then this should be a very special event seeing how the Modern Ford GT was created after the GT-40 MK II.

Count me in, I'll be there for sure.
I hope to bring the wife and kid and a nanny, so sign me up for a super suite.

and I'll send a check too.

All right!!
Hey SuperB, can we share your nanny? I may bring the 3 kids and wife.
Will sign up in the next few minutes!

Manny

Lithograph

Dave, Will the lithograph be given in a tube for carrying. TGH

How many are going to bring their wife?

Tomy,
We're going to try and come up with a solution in the next few weeks. A thicker stock paper is nicer, but it can't be rolled or shipped as easily. I suppose we'll try and find the middle ground version!

That's the ticket!

Forget the wives and kids, let's all bring nannys!!!:banana :banana :banana

No Contract at Hotel

Hey Dave,

Called Fairmont Newport Beach at your posted phone number above at 3pm per your guidance.

The reservations specialist, Brice, says our group has no signed contract with them as the Ford GT National Rally and as such could not book our rooms. He said to check with whoever was to put the package together ???

What's up?

Give me ten minutes.

Called and talked to the hotel. The group sales director was out sick from Wednesday on last week and just got back in the office so she may have missed the fax. I just got an email from her and she is at lunch. As soon as she gets back she will put the paperwork through and it will take ~1 hour to set up the group's block.

Sorry for the delay.

LOL!

Hotel called, got it taken care of, faxed me back the copy of the agreement. We should be good within the hour. Sorry about the hangup.

I am not for certain yet if the wife is going, but I am planning for that.
The nanny might be able to watch an extra kid, but I'm not sure about a total of 4, will have to check into that.
