Billy is here at Daytona. He showed me a photo of him in a t shirt after he did this. He also said he took a photo of his gauge cluster showing him taking a turn at 158 MPH with one hand on the wheel and a phone on the other. Crazy dude.

Billy said he could go faster!!

I'm quite sure if the GT went there with the intent of beating that it would.

Shaping up for a good shootout with Pobst driving at Laguna. Anyone have connections at Motor Trend?

He was on it... Not a lot of room left anywhere...
But respect for that laptime
 
Have to have an independent crew there checking the lap times before I believe it ,government motor's isn't the most trustworthy
 
I say bring them both there the same time and let's have a race. let's really see what is real.
 
 
Amazing lap times these cars are putting down.
 
The speed these cars carry into and through the climbing S's is unreal.
 
For those looking for data points on the Full course (almost no one drives the Grand course), the Z06 (not ZR1 from the article above) allegedly did a 1:55 on the full course and 2:40 on the grand course. That would put the NFGT around a 1:54. Billy Johnson confirmed he only ran the Grand course.

Still need a same driver, same day, production car test.
