Hi all Ford GT enthusiast,

one week ago i discovered this cool forum about this great car.
As you can see in my profile i´m not an owner of such a supercar and i´m not from USA :the homebase of the GT. I´m from France where only about 20 GTs are sold. I apologize for my bad english.
I´m a very privileged or let say crazy young men because 2 years ago i could drive a GT (one of 101) from my place to UK near london to Roush for maintenance about 550miles of pure happiness. The owner is a friend from the neighbour country who asked me if i could drive hís car to Roush, because he was on a trip for 14 days i thought he was joking but no he was serious, he trust me because he knows that i drive carefuly I was thinking about the responsibility of such a drive because i never drove such a powerful car the max i had driven was a BMW 330 with 231HP but at least i couldn´t resist to this opportunity and i did it with no regret :-) and i would do it again and again, and since this experience the ford GT became something very special to me.
so wish all GT owners from USA and of course from Europe (the 101 owner) lot of fun with your supercars
Happy motoring

Pit

Happy motoring to you to Pit. PD

Welcome to the forum. After a week in Bora Bora, I wish my French was as good as your english.

welcome!

bonjour :)

Bienveneu

Glad you enjoyed the drive, wait till you get one, you'll want to sleep in the garage :biggrin

That post put a smile on my face.

Now I must tell my quick story about this forum...

I was googling information about the FGT after I bought mine in July of 05 and stumbled upon this site.... What the hell is a Forum I thought to myself.. (really, I never knew about internet Forums) and 2 1/2 years later, I'm struggling to get to 1000 posts.... met way too many nice people that I don't see enough, viewed(read) many of fights and hopefully solved some too...

So if you liked the FGT and your 550 mile drive, it will be just as easy for you to fall for the forum here and the guys here too.... hilarious/smart/a little dumb and very well grounded group of people here... :cheers

Hi Pit!
Glad you found out site and can appreciate our singular American Supercar! It truly is an exceptional piece of "world class" automotive history. To have an owner hand you the keys for a 500 mile (or is it Km) journey is a very rare treat. Impressive that you were given to opportunity of a lifetime.

There is a small group of owners attempting to make a trip to France in July for the Lemans Classic. You might want to pick up on their French driving agenda to get another fix and see different colors (and modifications).

Good luck and happy posting....

Wow, cool story. Maybe you'll run into the crew in Europe this summer.

Hi all,

Thanks a lot for your all welcome greetings, Bora Bora is a nice place to learn french good choice SteveA
For a few week i saw a test drive on a french channel about a red GTX1, was it your car MK2GT?
IndyGT its true that some owner will come to France for the 24h of le Mans in july? I will try to attend this event also would be cool to meet people from here. If someone will need help or infos about the 24h of le Mans in July or other infos about a trip to France, Switzerland or Germany please feel free to pm me. By the way close to my place there is a museum of the biggest private Bugatti Collection in the world. a must see for all car freaks.
I will spent lot of time now here on this forum to increase my knowledge about the Ford GT. I will stay here in this forum until Bony the moderator will kick me out :-)

with regards

Pit
