exhaust system; still on the fence

NOTE: Remember anytime you remove Cats. on any of the above exhaust systems for your GT you are probabily not street legal. *( won't pass emissions test in most states). TGH

Good point - and as I tried to point out, one cat is not the same as another. The cats on the Stainless Works cars are 1/4 the size of the OEM cats...... I'll be really impressed if they are as effective!

They ether are less effective, or more restrictive that stock. No free lunches!

Excellent Review !:thumbsup

exhaust review

Thanks Nota4re! Great review.

I am partial to the sound of the Ida. It may not the trickest looking exhaust but the high rpm wail & snap, crackle, pop when letting off the gas is so nice. I love the sound. No stereo needed. I would like tubular headers but I can't give up my GT40 race sound. The sixties live again every time I drive my GT!!!

I agree with Ed since I hear his car quite often. I'm not sure there's a better sounding exhaust out there than the IDA, I believe it's worth the extra $.

Thanks for the excellent instructions. When I get some time I will start the project and take it s-l-o-w.

SO TRUE ..........

You will have to disconnect the halfshafts at the infamous transaxle flange to sneak the cats out of there and to fit the headers in.
In removing the OEM system and installing the Stainless Works system, I did not remove the halfshafts, just the halfshaft heat shields.

Ed, you must also eat Rice Krispies for breakfest!

I go with Kendall. I personally have the Heffner exhaust. Best tips. I like the sound of the Heffner, Stillen and Accufab. I think the best sounding overall is the Borla cat back + Borla Headers, but it is by far the most expensive.
