Some quick pix.

GT looks absolutely amazing tearing around the track. It looks more like a prototype than a GT car. I also love how the GT looks as it pulls away in rear 3/4 view. That was the best view of the 05/06 and it has that same distinctive look, like a ballistic GT missile rapidly accelerating off into the distance. It is SO low. Incredible.

The GT actually also sounds really good live on full boil. Very pleased with it. It's surprisingly loud. Much louder than the new 488 GTB was, but not at the ear splitting level of a C7R or 911 RSR. 488 GTB was shockingly quiet.

Position of the driver's legs is straighter than typical.

Female mechanic was thrashing on the car all day. Sweet.

Lots of heat coming out the tails. Looked to me like the plastic on one of the two cars was getting nuked pretty good over the course of the full day.

Awesome pictures! What are the two things filling the holes where the production car exhaust will exit?

One appears to be a camera, but both look like lenses.

But can we cook hotdogs on it? Perhaps INDY will avoid pontificating on this answer.

Looks like one wide angle and one focused. Near and far?

I find it interesting that they are using steel rotors, as opposed to ceramic -

GTLM rules require "iron-based alloy" brake discs.

I didnt think GT cars have ever used caeramic brakes. At least not for the 10 years I've been following the sport.

As I remember it…GT classes use steel disc's and DP's ceramic.

Reasoning behind this was to give the DP race cars a bigger advantage, at Daytona ( especially turn 1), when braking. Thus allowing a lap time differential to keep the field spread out. Braking points for GT classes are 100' to 200' sooner than DP's. Top speeds are nearly the same, but it takes longer in a GT class car on the big tracks to get to their top speed.

Doesn't appear to get FGT specific. Porsches have them too.

1 camera 1 radar. The Corvette team co developed it and now everyone seems to be running it.
