By now many of our tire compressors are nearing their expiration date, or have been used. I just found a refill kit at Tire Rack that costs a heck of a lot less than replacing the whole unit. And in stock!!

Note: This product cannot be used on vehicles equipped with direct tire pressure monitoring sensors in the wheels. Use of this product on these vehicles could result in damage to the sensor inside the wheel. Please contact your sales specialist at Tire Rack for more information.

The ContiComfortKit's orange compartment contains a bottle of liquid latex tire sealant. When the tire sealant has been activated to temporarily repair a tire, the sealant flows through an adapter and air hose, which become coated with the sealant. Therefore the sealant bottle, adapter and air hose must be replaced to prepare the ContiComfortKit to be returned to service for future use as a stand-alone compressor or to provide temporary extended mobility.

ContiComfortKit Replacement Parts includes easy-to-follow instructions along with a new bottle of sealant, adapter and air hose. The kit also includes the special torx screwdriver needed to remove the sealant bottle compartment cover's screws and a pair of plastic gloves. Once the replacement parts have been installed, a new speed limit warning sticker and sealant expiration date sticker included in with ContiComfortKit Replacement Parts should replace the stickers originally used on the ContiComfortKit.

I carry a plug kit. I would not use the "can of goo". Plug the tire, and use the compressor to reinflate. In theroy, should be good to go.

Can you elaborate? How is it used, who makes it, where to buy?

Torrie turned me on to this after Rally 4. I think the kit was $27 plus shipping.

Any auto parts store has a plug kit. I carry one, too.

a plug kit, is just a long piece of rubber and a couple of hand tools, one to clean and shape the punture(say from a nail) and the other to push the long rubber piece in the punture and there is usually some rubber cement in the kit too. not too complicated and works well in small puntures that you can get too. you can even use it with the wheel still on the car. you can get it in any auto parts store.

+1

and a good pair of big needle nose pliers to pull out whatever got stuck in your tire.

any auto parts store. ie checker, schuck's, kragen (CSK), OReilly, Murry's, AutoZone, PEP Boys, Napa, etc.

Yes eveyone beat me to the reply, the plug kit is a cheap insurance, and better to me than the goo. And yes, add in a pair of needle nose or dykes, to pull the piece stuck in the tire.
