Leaving early and making it up there was smart.........leaving tonight to come back might not be............GTJOEY called me and got there with no problem beating out the storm...........coming back is another issue......We have approximately 3/4 inches in various parts of the City........trucking back might be a good option...................Around the Snow in a Ford GT?:lol

Don't let that crap freeze up in the wheels- you'll be stuck there till spring.....

BTW - just saw this..

"580K lose power in Oct. snow storm" http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-20127407/580k-lose-power-in-oct-snow-storm/

from CBS..
"A powerful storm system bringing a mix of rain and snow chugged up the East Coast, knocking out power to more than a half-million customers Saturday. The nor'easter is expected to dump up to 10 inches or more throughout the region, and the unseasonably early snow has already broken records in New York City.

Most of those without power are in Pennsylvania. Utilities there say 428,000 customers have lost power - more than 160,000 are in Philadelphia and its suburbs.

In Connecticut, utilities reported more than 125,000 without service.

In New York, sporadic power outages are centered near Poughkeepsie and Newburgh. Scattered outages have been reported in New Jersey.,/P>

Spokesman Todd Meyers says Potomac Edison, the dominant utility in western Maryland, had more than 26,000 outages.

Flight delays are reported of three hours at Philadelphia International Airport; five hours at John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia in New York City; and six hours at Newark Liberty. Teterboro Airport in New Jersey is closed.

The National Weather Service said that as of 2 p.m. today Central Park recorded 1.3 inches of snowfall - the most to fall there in October since snowfall records were kept beginning in 1869.

Forecasters say New York could see up to four inches."

Maybe you should take Gino up on the truck offer......

If it's any consolation, it's 78 deg and sunny here in Orange County. But then here in California we have to contend with Governor Moonbeam Brown. Stay warm!

I hate to be wrong

My apologies to Don after my insisting to overide his warning of an oncoming snowstorm. Sometimes being a hardheaded redhead has it's downfalls. And if that weren't bad luck enough.....I was just at the front counter listening to a bus driver's dilemna. No rooms available and he wanted to know if anyone would share any rooms. I laughed at the sign on the bus saying "SUNY". "Not very suny here"I joked. He said that wasn't anything to do with the sun. It was the cheerleaders from SUNY University. Dang it....now it looks like I'm gonna have to share. Again, Don, my apologies.

If I had thought there was a chance of hosting a bus full of cheerleaders I would have ignored the weather reports too.
6 inches of snow here in north Jersey and the power is out as trees are down everywhere. Luckily I bought a generator after Irene so I am not sitting in the dark.
Haven't seen snow this early since I lived in Winnipeg.

9;30 now we are taking off in about an hour.........GREAT SHOTS OF THE CAR IN THE SNOW:thumbsup..........The whole state highway plow team was at the hotel, they will be our escort in a little bit to the highway.......
Nardo doesnt like snow:lol:lol he says the snow is too cold...:lol:lol:lol.....tip here, dont vote for perry........:lol
The tires, junked pretty good with snow......
Luckily, I remembered to put on the ebrake....BUT WIPE THE SNOW OUT OF THE WHEELS SO THE PADS DIDNT FREEZE TO THE ROTORS.....making them totally useless and we would need a tow home.........
GTJOEY TIP OF THE WEEK,also in the book...........semi metalic pads will bond to the rotors if wet and not dried or freezing cold, once you move, the brake pads could rip of the backings....then your stuck......
On another note........Dino, Gtjimmy, my wife is making macaroni, meatballs, cutlet parm...............we should eat around 4 pm...........grandma is bringing the semolina bread......
Even in a snow storm Italians gotta eat........:biggrin

Wow, hard core. In NorCal I stay home if I ever see that white stuff on the ground. Only happened 3 times in my life.

I remember we had snow in San Francisco in '76 when I was in law school. Only lasted a few hours.
