Are Ferrari owners that insecure??

Getting smoked?

No offense to the NSX crowd but the NSX is the "Deck Furniture on the Titanic", It hasn't really changed in 20 years except for maybe the headlights. My friend has one and he has $150K in it and he calls it a "Glorified Accord". As far as the F430 goes it looks good but gets "Spanked" by the Ford GT. Bottom line is you have to buy a Carrerra GT or a Enzo to get the same performance as the GT, end of story. Everything else including the Lambo's get "Smoked" by the GT. :banana

Jeez, Not getting smoked isn't the only reason to buy a 'supercar'! Otherwise everybody would have Ford GTs, Enzos and Carrera GTs. And then we'd all be the same and not individual. I had a NSX (can't remember what year) but it was an excellent car. Even though Honda is the parent, she had her own personality and excitement! The Ford GT, being built by Ford and whomever else was involved, certainly isn't referred to as a 'FORD' only. We all love our GTs and would probably go nuts if somebody would say, "Hey.... so what..... it's still a Ford!"

Enjoy your GTs and certainly brag about them and occassionally tease other car owners about how you can blow their doors off but don't 'cut them down' just because they own another brand of 'supercar'. It's 'THEIR pride and joy' just like our GTs are to us! Michael :thumbsup

I like your thinking Michael :cheers

Let em say what they want! If it's good, who cares what the hood ornament says?

Thank you DBK..... I did a double take on your initials! For a minute, I was thinking DBC (D.B. Cooper) and then I remembered your last initial was a K! Phew....! I almost was afraid to respond for a second! :lol :lol :lol :lol

How do you know I'm not? I can neither confirm or deny whether I've ever skyjacked anyone. :biggrin

Back to the Ferrari thread, it was all worth reading just to read that the gt receives "little to no respect from asian people". :lol :lol What kind of a comment is that? Seriously. :lol

R U serious?

HUH? I didn't say that, did I? :confused

No, not you. Some guy on the seventh or eighth page. He says "think about this....little to no respect from asian people". I just thought that was a really bizarre comment. :lol

Is this the guy who stores the car in Scottsdale and was about to have the IRS seize the car for not paying his taxes?

No way... he is East Coast Based, I prefer not to type his name, but the first letter of his last name begins with G. Sorry, don't want to be covert, but I don't put folks last names on message boards.

I belong to 'fchat' and here and several other web car forums because I find most forum threads pretty interesting. Sure, each forum has its characters but you have to try and overlook their personal problems: jealousy, insecurity, financial weakness, just being a miserable person and a few other reasons I can't think of right now.

The big 'cat and dog fight' is, IMO, between fchat and lambo power. Each forum claiming to have the best car made and thus defaming the other's's choice of supercar. It's funny for a while and then it just becomes over bearing and ridiculous!

I'm fortunate enough to own a few different brands of cars and I love trying to find facts, info and camaraderie with each web forum and their members. I have to restrain myself when somebody gets stupid, although I just tore into somebody on Lambo Power for being a braggert! I asked a friend who this guy was and he said he's OK but gets uptight and defensive when someone questions his authenticity. I have since personally apologized to him for my preemptive strike on him and he and I are so-so friends now exchanging e-mails.

I know I can't stop the petty bickering but as somebody who has the different cars marques and doesn't hold a bias against other brands, it seems self-defeating and a waste of time (except for funning around)!

I'm just glad to be here and able to talk about my love for my Ford GT with the rest of you! Michael

:thumbsup

You are so right on the money, what's the point of running down somebody's pride and joy, I don't get it?? I love my GT, but I am poly, have a few other loves in the garage as well. I don't get running down anyone's ride, great way to make new friends by crapping on their ride. :bs :thumbsdow :bs

I loved my NSX, was a great car. I knew where it was on the straight line food chain, yet often contemplated where Honda could have been if they'd done something with the powerplant.

Anyways, good memories!

The NSX is a Joke in Exotic Circles. Its always been for people who couldn't afford Real Cars. When should we expect honda to pull there head out and actually build this 500HP NSX in the year 2020??

Those must be the circles of people who buy exotics simply to impress others by having their cars valet parked in front of ritzy restaurants. Then there are the circles of people of have tracked their cars against an NSX and have come away with humility and respect for it. The next incarnation should be out by 2009. Honda has decided to put all their resources behind the "Acura" badge and their future racing efforts will be under the Acura moniker. The new NSX will be to current exotics what the original was in 1991.

Depending on your definition of "walk over" the GT will certainly smoke any stock NSX in a drag race but drag racing is for sissies. Real men road race and on a short track with a lot of turns it would be a very close race. Any track with long straights the GT will smoke a stock NSX as well but if a GT were to encounter a properly tuned FI NSX on a track it would become a rapidly diminishing spec in the NSX's rear view mirror.

In the mean time my GT will walk on any NSX ever made.
Except perhaps this one. :)

Not all exotic car owners race their rides around a track on the weekend. Nor do we get off on taking it to an expensive dinner. However the quarter mile is king for street driving enjoyment. The NSX is the oldest living $90,000-under powered civic I have ever seen. If you spent 12k for the whipple supercharger on the GT you can get 700 RWHP. Let's run that smoke machine against your F1 NSX. By the time the 2009 NSX comes out with 500 hp it will suck compared a 650 hp Blue Devil Corvette and 620 hp Ferrari. :banana

I think it is funny that people will judge how fast a car is based on HP. There are sooo many things that determine overall speed, like HP, TQ, gearing, aerodynamics, etc. A 500HP NSX based on the current platform would be CRAZY FAST! :eek

this thread sucks........how bout we go back to talking about how much better the Z06 is than the GT :thumbsdow

Well, do tell. How much better is the Z than the GT? :lol Inquiring minds wanta know! :wink

BTW, I do admit, I love my Z! :biggrin

I would guess it is better in price with essentially the same performance from the factory. Also easier to park and with more storage space making it a better everyday car.

GIVE them a break, I'm an ex times 3 Ferrari owner. Most NEVER get their cars to the 7,500 mile tune-up...eg. dropping the engine for a $15,000.00 overhaul...I'm sorry tune-up.!!!

When debating between a few cars... the F-cars were the easiest for me to eliminate. Don't get me wrong, I really like these cars, respect the engineering, and that unique Ferrari sound will never get old with me. I will admit that the biggest grudge I have against the Ferraris is the high cost of ownership. So, perhaps it is a personal problem (lack of dinero), but I for one just could afford to maintain that car. More power to those who can.... and to those who buy them and don't drive them, that's just something I cannot comprehend.

While we're internet racing, mabey Joe should race this 4 cylinder from a stoplight?
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/shepherd/0/1708E79B-7B05-467E-9785-5B1B290504E4.htm

Now moving on, it would be a good race between the Red GT and said NSX, cause the video of the NSX is old and the lawnmower is now faster.

Any GT with a proper TT setup would destroy it anyways though, as it should.
