Ed,

Here is a similar MKII to the above MKIII in color. Original red GT40 was owned by my former neighbor. He had an 18mo restoration in Wisconsin back in the early 2000s, here it is in the garage on a rack.

And at Peeble Beach when it won best of class, 2005, for post war cars through the 60s

Beautiful car Atomic, but that's a street Mk1. MkIIs had 427 engines, hence the additional scoops on the clamshell, a 4 spd top loader instead of the ZF, and Hallibrand wheels instead of the wire ones. Your car's interior is the street version as well, with carpet, leather divider between the sets including starter button (and some had an ash tray) & leather seats without grommets. Gorgeous car.

Sorry I haven't read all 13 pages here, so excuse me if this has already been posted. But heres a quick vid of Raj starting and revving the FGT at Laguna Seca along with pics of the Ford team and Henry speaking to the Shelby VIP group. I am still amazed that I happened to be there when all this took place.

Enjoyed your insight, it is a MKI, my mistake, 289 ci, ran loud and after nearly 40 years was still amazing to ride in. He put 300K into the restoration and sold it for $1.6 M. I would rather own the car!

Ed

Well, 12 hours of GSW fractures, two anterior total hip replacements, crash on couch during Seinfeld, wake up at 2:30 AM til 4:00 AM on computer, sleep till 5:45 then back at the rock pile for another day. Sucks, saw my dentist today, what a life!

I really wish Ford could find a way to post their schedule on when and where they will be with these cars for those of us that would love to be there whenever possible.

No problem. BTW, that's an early street car as well; double lights on the rear of the clamshell. I suppose only Ronnie Spain knows when the rears were switched to the single light, but I have seen street cars in both iterations.
I would have kept the car too, especially in that blue!

Well, either red or deep blue would be a never sell car for me. Friend wanted to by a short wheel base Sciata circa about 1954. Ran it into a back end of a truck. He also had original one of three Shelby GT 350 1965 "Shelby School of High Performance Driving" . I believe that was sold also.

That is my '66 GT350 next to his 1965 Performance School GT350
